So I just got done with the 1/2 shafts and ended up getting some new tools that I will pretty much only use for 1/2 shaft replacement every decade or so.

What I'm wondering is do we or should we have a forum where people can borrow some specific tools from other people locally.

For instance I'm in San Jose and now have
    M28x1.5 Rethreading die (McMaster Carr)
A full set of (Harbor Freight)

The thought is post where you are and what you have or looking for. Then let the people figure out how to get it to them.

It probably won't work everywhere, but I think the larger metros it's very doable. Your case is something to figure out. May Paypal a deposit with whomever has whatever you have/need and use TW Express to get it there?

How far out in the sticks?

While a Good idea in theory it seems to pop up different places it just seems to fizzle out.

It is not bad if your working on a long term project and can wait a few weeks to borrow the tools.

Need a fast Turn Around not much help .

Then dealing with Lost tools and replacing them can be hectic .

Who knows it might help someone out of a Jam.Best of Luck!

I am sure we all have $$$$$ in special tools that if lucky were used twice
