I have a 2015 Tacoma. While cleaning I discovered leaves and sticks Packed in the quarter panel behind the rubber barriers near the driver and passenger front doors near the
    wheel wells.

I have had that issue too. I removed and threw away those rubber barriers a while back which makes cleaning it out much easier. It’s probably nothing to worry about though. I’ve never seen those areas rusted out on our trucks.

Every time I vacuum, I hit those two spots. Just regular maintenance now.

I had a plant growing in there once. It was peeking out of the rubber gasket to get sunlight. Gotta clean that shit out before winter, or you could have a huge ice dam in there. I've had that too - big icicle hanging from the gap at the door's edge every morning.
