I've been itching for some trails, and was wondering about planning a trip to swisha loop. I have never been, and Ive seen some photos, maps... as I understand it to be about 320 miles long... and about a 3-4 day trip. I need to plan the timeline far in advance. as my vacations are planned a year ahead...

Of course this planning is all tentative on the canadian border opening up.

I do believe this trail needs some base requirements.. 33" tires, winch, sliders/skids? bumpers.. tools, spare parts. safety gear, communications devices......

I understand there is a LOT more to this, just getting the ball rolling....

I’d say give yourself at least 4 days on the trail to be able to enjoy it.

I brought 9 gallons of extra fuel and was dangerously close to running out. If I go again, I’m bringing 15 gallons.

Idk what the washed out culvert looks like now, but we needed shovels and traction boards on get up it, and a winch and snatch block to move boulders out of the way.

A chainsaw is a very good idea.

@Chux @Wheelspinner you guys have anything to add?

It’s about 320 miles between fuel stops at one point. The whole loop is closer to 500 miles I believe. It is also extremely remote for most of it so plan accordingly
