Ok guys - my dog goes into the garage and runs over to my taco. Starts running around taco sniffing. Usually that means there's a squirrel fvck running around.

Didn't think much of it. Get in the truck to take the dogs for a walk.

Misfire check engine light on in limp mode (manual tranny didn't know that wood happen). Limp back home.

Read engine code - which is a permanent p0356 coil F

First thing comes to mind is a fvcking mouse/squirrel ate my wire.

Sure enough take a look at coil pack 6 (rear driver side) and there it is wires ate thru all the way.

Time to change my plugs anyways @ 65K miles here.

My question is what are the part numbers for a new coil pack wire.

All I found is part # 19901 - plug 19100P - coil pack 19500 but cant find then anywhere to purchase.

Looks like its going to be a pain in the ass to replace so any help appreciated here.

Truck has been flawless for 5 years this is the only problem other than the dealer wanted 8 hundy to change my plugs... lol "gimme my keys back"

So I guess its time to change the plugs ffs and a coil pack and wire. I could probably fix the wiring but the vermit ate thru right at the coil pack.

    Here's a pic 20191202_122728.jpg 20200908_202302.jpg

I wonder how much an engine harness costs

That's the only way dealer would fix it. They sell coil connector pigtails online. I would find the one you need and solder in

I'd just file an insurance claim because what you see might just be the tip of the iceberg

35 degrees here now with snow. 97 degrees here yesterday. He is not in my hood but hey - he could have snow. :notsure: Looks like more than a simple fix. I'd kill every gopher on the course!

Perfect - that solder should plug n play???

Pic of snow was this past spring. We moved out of Philly right before Covid thanks God. We moved to Upstate New York where its grey and snowy. The road crews on the snow before it hits the ground up here. Cant even go wheeling on the back roads in the snow. Have to wheel in the driveway. Got my wheel on the curb there.

Probably the ECU for at least 2 of the wires.

Get you some of these low temp solder heat shrink butt connectors. They make wiring in a cramped engine bay a lot easier

Also isolate all the chewed wires asap. Don't need voltage going back to pcm the wrong way.

The fuel injectors have 2 wires (direct and port), and the ignition coils have 4. This looks like the No. 6 ignition coil connector to me.

OP, you can buy new connectors and terminals from Toyota. You can probably get away with just the terminals and reusing your connector, or just replace it if you'd like.

90980-11885 - Connector Housing, Ignition Coil
82998-12780 - Terminal with Wire, Connector (Qty: 2, gold plated for violet and blue wires - pins 2 and 3)
    82998-12790 - Terminal with Wire, Connector (Qty: 2, pink and white/black wires - pins 1 and 4)

You are correct sir - #6 coil pack.

    Beatiful thanks that perfect.

I bought a new connector replacement for like 12$ off Amazon since the ebay link was sold out. I got one with water proof butt joints. I was thinking about replacing the wire going to the coil pack. Toyota has them for like $36 on sale at Connicelli they have a sale on now for OEM parts.
The wire harness is all 3 for the driver side bank. I'm going to try replacing the coil connector and fix the wires that got chewed.

Car is parked in garage even with a MT its running in limp mode wont go above 3k rpm. Barely made it back home. So sitting in garage waiting for my patch kit.

I'll be changing my plugs along with and save myself 8 hundy at the stealership. To be fair the plugs aint cheap but I found a set for $86 so not to bad.

I'd prolly have taken it apart and fixed the wire today if it wasn't 99 degrees out. I got a stash of beer I can hold out until the parts get here.

After the fix, wrap in capsaicin tape to help prevent their Lil mouths from chewing the wires
