The only correct size is 255/85/16. The Maxx is heavy though.

Just run ST Maxx or Goodyear Duratrac year-round. They're good in snow and off-road. Too bad the Duratrac doesn't come in 255/85-16 or 255/80-17.

Anyone seen the Comfort+ accessories installed in a Tacoma yet? The full kit is a brutal $1900.

37s hold lots of air. contained/ trapped air is a fantastic insulator. Insulators isolate both cold and heat.

There would be at least one time where I drive away when it was plugged in

It uses the same AC power cord as the Toyota block heater, so there should be a breakaway feature on the plug.

My CTek battery tender came with a nylon bag. I just put the bag on the steering wheel as a reminder whenever I have the battery tender plugged in. It's very necessary as the mind isn't the sharpest early in the morning.

Then there is this guy who lives a little farther north, and has the block heater. Does not need it.

I mean sure if its -30C or colder when I get up and I am driving the truck, I go out and plug in the block heater for 30 minutes. Since that is all it needs to get above -20C.

My Dad said I should be smart and have the outside plug on a dedicated breaker in my fuse box. Plug the truck in at night, leave the breaker off. In the morning just flip the breaker. A smart man would have taken his advice. I on the other hand go out in death cold and plug the truck in like a sucker.:bananadead:

I also use an orange extension cord to try and prevent the driving away plugged in problem.

Yeah the coldest temp in which I've started my truck was -22C, and the starter didn't seem to struggle. 0W30 oil has its benefits.

I literally just went through this. Just received my new AAE rack with a heat treated bar and upgraded rack guides. My rack guide on the driver's side has been loose for a bit now and the passenger inner tie rod is going. My OEM rack is around $1100 and I originally ordered a NAPA reman rack but I've seen some bad things with a couple remans. When it fails I don't want it to be on the track. Currently have way too many plans for my build (on my screen I have a set of 315/75R16s tempting me). Poly bushings for front and rear control arms, trac bar, and body mounts if I go through with the 1" body lift. Rock sliders in there too. Next year is gonna be a blast for sure.

@tacoma16 your rig gonna back up by early next year or are you planing for sooner? how's the front gears?

thanks for the heads up on the racks. Mines not gone but figured what the hell. Can’t swing it right now though and mines not leaking (this resevoir wasn’t down, so boots just held water).

I’m hoping to make the October run.....essentially, everything with the old diff was gone, was only able to salvage part of the locker. Already got a new housing, diff tube, and parts on order (gears, bearings, locker components). Also have new upper control arms on order (hopefully they get here soon) and I’ll be ordering new shocks soon.....

this weekend the new tie rods are going on with new cam mounts. Shit show...
