I have a 2.7L taco I already put 235/r15 on it. I recently bought the fat bobs lift kit and I’m getting it professionally installed. If I get this lift put on will I have to re gear? I would like to go up to 245 or even 265 if it will fit. The after market rims I put on already slowed it down significantly. Will the lift slow it down more? I also would like my tires to stick out a little more than they already do and I’m not sure how to go about doing that.

here is a picture of it now vs (soon to be lifted w fatbobs readylift kit)

did you get the spindles that fat bob say to pair with the lift? are the bigger tires for aesthetic or for off roading?

They are just for looks. And no I don’t think we are speaking of the same lift.

This is the lift I got. I don’t know much about the whole process by any means so any explanation behind parts help

ahh, I have a first gen 5lug. I dont see any spindle options for second gens from fat bobs.
I wonder how fat fat bob is? Maybe its an ironic nic name and he actually is super skinny.

They are 235/(75) I’m not sure what the second number is I would have to go look at them but they are 29.5” or something like that. Sometimes I wish I would’ve gone 16” wheels and chrome but I think the 15” looks good and let’s the tire look a little more beefy.

Did you have to re gear for any of that? How’s the power behind it now?

Oh okay, thanks!! Do you have any idea what the best way to give power back to the little guy? I really don’t want to re gear, but if I have to I will. I don’t really go off roading and when I do it’s just dirt roads with minor mud holes. I just hate when I have to merge on the highway and can’t get up to a good speed in time.

I didn’t even notice the light bar and fog lights you put in there. Do you have a link or place I can buy those from?

Sweet build, I’m considering going this route with my truck but I’ve also been looking into the body mount lift option, has anyone gone this route with a 5 lug or is the spacer/ add a leaf lift better?

I don’t know if there is an option (don’t quote me on this) for spacers in the back. I know that on the 5 lug the leafs go under the axle so it’s better to add a leaf AND another plus
To adding a leave is the potential to add towing capacity. I THINK all of this is valid, but maybe I’m wrong.
