Taco noob here. Just bought a new 2020 off-road double cab and am looking to do an audio upgrade. Part of this upgrade includes adding a 5 channel amp. Looks like the two most common install locations for the amp are in the storage compartment behind the back passenger seat or under one of the front seats:

Any comments from people who have installed in either location wishing they hadn't? Also any tips on mounting boards/amp racks? looking at using a taco tunes amp rack, but not sure if there are any other options out there.

    Thanks!

If it's a 2020 you will have more room under the passenger seat. The drivers side has the motor for the electric seat. They have also added a support bar on the passenger seat that is a pain.. I used spacers on the passenger seat to make my amp fit. Rockford P100x5

Thanks for the tip on the spacers. I like the idea of installing under the seat instead of taking up valuable storage space behind the back seat.

Did you mount your amp to the floor or just leave it loose?

The riser needs to have a larger foot print..... The one pictured is just waiting to ruin your day.

@Colliersharp Some mount a board under the carpet and attach there. Whatever you do, don't screw to the floorboard.

    @
Purpleman That was just to get the height measurement.. I went with seat jackers.

    Too much.
If you decide to use the rear wall of your truck, have a plan for when the third brake light fails.

I had a fun time with my dealership as well. Fortunately we came to an "understanding" they didn't want to do the work on these vents as you need to remove the bed to "do it right"

Thanks for the tips so far. Sounds like Ill try I installing under the front seat using a taco tunes amp rack. I'd rather avoid the leaky brake light situation.

There's a lot of relestate behind those seats. Just take some precautions.

That is cool. Wish I would've seen that before I ordered my rack from taco tunes. Also always good to see actual pictures of install to see how it is done. thanks for sharing!
