So I’m due for a new pair of boots, currently my go to pair are a 8” thorough good boot. Has worked great but I’m thinking some type of slip on boot would be nice. What is your go to and why?

Might not be exactly what you’re looking for but I’m using my Lowa Renegades for nearly everything outdoors nowadays

    https://www.lowaboots.com/mens/hiking/renegade-gtx-mid-anthracite-steel-blue

originally got for overnight hikes and rock scrambling, but goretex, waterproofing, and lightweight had been useful walking across shallow water crossings and recovery during offroading

I prefer to drive in a low top or flip flops For better ankle articulation and bring along something else if I have to get in the mud or snow.

I love it. It’s all about heel droop and the ability to keep all your toes on the ground in off-camber situations.

Blundstones for me too, drive barefoot, slip on at destination. Those and chacos for hot weather and/or streams.

I have more of a problem catching the Rim around the sole of boots on the petal. But I get the concern.

I got a pair of hiking boots a few weeks ago from LLBean, made in Romania. By far the most comfortable boots I have owned. A bit pricey IMO, but they felt great the first time I put them on.
