Been awhile since I’ve been on here. Got busy with work and moving and getting engaged.

But I’ve been re-energized to work on this truck a little. Was having a popping sound when turning so I changed inner and outer tie rods and it went away.

    Then a few days later...

New taars! Falken wildpeak mt in 285/75r16

Also finally got around to installing factory style fog lights in my CBI bumper.

Hopefully with the new tires (and my first mt tire) I’ll have some wheeling in the near future. Next on the list is just small cosmetic things I’ve been ignoring, like repainting wheels and sliders.

When I got the 4 runner wheels from a friend he had painted them flat black, after numerous wheeling trips they were scratched up pretty bad so I decided to rattle can them this past weekend.

Was going for something similar to this:

If not a little more bronze but ended up with:

Torn on if I like it or not but at this point it was a pain in the ass so they’ll probably stay like this for awhile. :notsure:

Been a long time since I've updated this. To make a long story short I bought a house and got married so wheeling and working on the truck went to a minimum BUT good news is I sold the house and got divorced!!

I haven't been wheeling since 2015 so over the past few months I've been doing some maintenance and upgrades to get ready for my buddies bachelor weekend wheeling trip at Rausch next month.

First thing I did was get rid of the awful gold wheels, sanded and repainted gunmetal grey.

    IMG_4692.jpg

Next up I upgraded my uppers to Icon Delta Joints

    IMG_5475.jpg

After install I went to get an alignment and my lower cam bolts were seized so had to cut those out and get new ones :frusty::frusty:
New lowers installed and went for an alignment and now my steering rack had too much play to align... so I took some more money and threw it at my truck and installed a new steering rack.

FINALLY I have a good straight alignment.

Also finally managed to find a camper shell that was made for my truck that wasn't ridiculously priced but it was in Raleigh, so me and a buddy went on a little trip and picked it up. The paint is obviously the wrong color and its a little beat up but honestly I don't mind, I love having all the extra dry secure storage.

    IMG_3134.HEIC.jpg

Even came with the Thule racks so I have an easy way to transport my kayak.

    IMG_3172.HEIC.jpg

    And a decent current pic

    IMG_3266.HEIC.jpg

Today I decided to join the 21st century and ordered a new touchscreen head unit with bluetooth, apple car play and a backup camera. Getting delivered from Crutchfield tomorrow and will install this weekend.

I can't fuckin wait to go wheeling again, its been far too long. Plus I've never been to Rausch so looking forward to that. Will upload some pics after the trip.

    Thanks man! Congrats to you!

Only thing I'm looking to do to the truck in the near future is new leaf springs, (finally) upgrade to coilovers and possibly build/buy a rear bumper. Other than that I'm just looking forward to more wheeling and more camping with it!

Slapped a new Boss double din head unit in and paid for the steering wheel controls adapter this time. Nice to have some modern amenities in the ol truck. I got a backup camera to go with it as well but haven’t wired it up yet.

Just got back from my first wheeling trip since Harlan KY in 2015... Went out to Rausch Creek off road in Pa for my best friends bachelor party and we had an absolute blast. We could not have asked for better weather, 70's during the day and 40's at night with no rain. Will be posting more pics as I go through what I took, unfortunately mostly pics of other rigs in our group.

I kissed a rock with the rear corner panel on baby creek which pushed my bumper into the tail light and broke the tail light mounts. so finally ordered the LED tail lights that have been in my Amazon wish list for years...

Around the same time I noticed my frame was shitting the bed with rust, called Toyota and they basically told me to go fuck myself.

So I took it to a buddies shop and we cut out the worst of it, welded in some plate and coated everything we could in POR-15. Hopefully good for now, especially since it's not my daily driver anymore.

While I had the bed out I installed some Icon leaf packs that I picked up locally for a steal of a deal brand new. Along with a u-bolt flip kit.

Pics below of the frame repair, forgot to take pics of the new leaf packs but they look like everyone else's.

Found a hell of a deal on Facebook marketplace for a set of brand new Fox 2.0 coilovers for 50% off retail. Picked them up the other day and plan to install them this weekend.

Took the truck to a buddies shop and got a few things done.

Installed the new Fox coilovers this weekend and the ride quality is night and day. The truck feels completely different now.

One of the perks of living in Richmond is you may go out to your truck one day and discover your catalytic converter has been cut out… decided to weld in a piece of tube for now and if I fail inspection figure something else out.

Also installed a new stock exhaust thanks to @TacoFMS as my old clamped together exhaust was falling apart. You can see the new icon leaf packs and u-bolt flip I installed a few months back in this pic as well.

I’m excited to finally go wheeling again hopefully in the near future!

Glad it worked out for you. Let me know if you end up having room for 1 more rig in your next wheeling trip.
