It looks like the EVAP cannister vent valve breather/filter.

It shouldn't be the LDP (leak detection pump) it looks like just an external filter attachment which goes to the LDP. It should actually be relatively cheap.

I just did some good ol' maintenance to the truck today including the first tranny service (since 60,000 miles ago when I did my valve body which was basically a flush and full power flush maybe 5K prior to the valve body work). I am happy to say that since switching out to Valvoline Maxxlife instead using Toyotas WS junk the fluid came out a little dirty but still retained it's pink properties inherent to ATF. I was almost nervous to do the service but much to my surprise it came out much cleaner than I imagined it would had. To be honest I was almost prepared to accept that I had to do another flush. By 65K on my first service my WS fluid came out BLACK. Like UGLY black.

Truck feels a little peppier now that I have it some TLC. The RPM belt is looking fantastic, and for the first time in a while everything in the engine bay has a nice layer of dust on it. No leaks, and nothing appears to be operating as designed for the first time in a while.

What more could I want at 126K on the truck?

Here's another interesting thing that I have noticed.

@mightytacoman and whoever else this may pertain to... I think that the stutter off idle into driving is actually a sign that you are late on one of your vital services (oil change or spark plugs) and need to replace them. I noticed my stutter went away today after doing a much needed oil change. It had been close to 6K since doing it and I think my engine was trying to warn me that it doesn't like the dirty oil. The same happened when I replaced up my fouled up Iridiums.

Well this didn't fix my stutter at take off. As I just recently did plugs and oil.

I have thoughts of reversing the fpr mod as a possible "fix" thinking that the sudden change in vacuum at very low airflow is causing the sudden surge to rich afr followed by a rebound lean afr in that initial off the line second.

. My other thought is potential for maf tables to be "off" some in those idling nodes. If standstill idle node is good, then the node immediately after it is too high a value (causing the rich afr) with the node after that one being too low a value (causing lean afr) I could see that contributing to the off the line stutter. This option being less likely due to natural variations from idling truck at different temperatures

I actually do wonder if the FPR is to blame here for that.

It is also possible the MAF tables are off and the airflow tables are what causes it. I don't know. Perhaps it is actually both issues at once contributing to the issue. It seems to be very sporadic and sometimes it does it sometimes it does not. For me it happens when the truck is "dirty" on maintenance. Or at least the issue is amplified or something.

Maybe it is indeed a natural thing, as some all stock 1GR users seem to have reported the issue as well according to Justin himself so that rules out the FPR now that I think about it.

I'm leaning towards "dirty" maintenance and or MAF issues at the idle section.

Is this dirty maintenance one of those "my car feels faster when its clean" type of deals?

Are the VVTi solenoids active when this symptom occurs? I could see oil quality/quantity/pressure potentially having some effect on the solenoids' operation like it does on some other vehicles.

Anyone have the specs for the threading on our pulley shaft? Going to try to rethread today or tomorrow. Nate over at Smoothflow gave me a tracking number for a new quickchange pulley set up so I want to have it ready when it arrives.

The hesitation is timing related. I have the logs from you guys and posted screenshots. It’s the same thing in every log. I already posted on this.

I don't but I know Gadget does. He provides that allen head bolt either with the SG pulley or with the press on tool he sells.
