    Hi,
Is it possible to install a back up camera & use the factory head unit as a monitor? I have a 2nd gen. 13' Tacoma 2wd, auto, access cab base model with the factory (double din I think) head unit. I purchased a very cheap ($15) camera that comes with the RCA cables from Walmart. I am not sure of the quality or more important the clarity (black & white or color?) of the camera. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Is there a better quality camera? My Taco has an ARE topper with a large wheelchair lift that sticks out quite a bit & obstructs my view to say the least.

If the truck didn’t come with a camera, it’s going to be very difficult (if not impossible) to make that work.
Most of the 2nd gens had the camera displayed in the mirror and not the radio

Thanks. I think I'm going to wait & go with a nice new android head unit. I'll install cameras when I do that. Anyone have a particular brand/model that they would recommend?

Headlights, taillights, touchscreen head unit, grille, rims, more to come.
I recommend this one I just installed it in my 2nd gen. It was pretty cheap on Amazon you'll have to find the bracket that goes around it I got mine off Amazon as well. It also comes with a backup cam. And if you leave them a review theyll make the Toyota logo pop up on startup. 20200830_160936.jpg Screenshot_20200923-120411_Amazon Shopping.jpg
