and the fittings for the gearbox don't fit someone must have changed them at one time or another and now they don't fit in the new oem gearbox.

The truck was also lifted back in 2002 when it was new and they used a (power steering 90 degree return tube, and a 90 degree high pressure hose with a female fitting on the other end.)

I have been all over town to many auto stores and hydraulic shops and no dice. the hydraulic places say they can't because of the (uncommon thread sizes 17x1.5, 16x1.5) (standard oem rack pinion for a toyota tacoma) so I am confused when they say these are uncommon sizes.

    Any Help

    17x1.5 is pretty big.
    A 16 mm bolt/fitting requires a 24mm wrench.

I haven’t been under a 1st Gen. in awhile, but that seems big.

Well thats what I thought but 3 different places measured the threads and told me
    17x1.5 top fitting
    16x1.5 bottom fitting

Also if you see the old 90 degree turn it has to be that tight as you can see the wear spots on the corner of the tube because it is rubbing on the lift kit bracket it is so tight.
