If it's anything like last cycle then it will be 2-3 years for a pro model to come out.

 

That's $1000 just for their preorder. I can't imagine what it will actually be once the physical machines are in peoples hands. It wouldn't surprise me if they go well over $2000

 

I won’t lie... If I were able to get my hands on two of them I’d sell one to pay for the other. If someone is dumb enough to pay that price then so be it

Ghost of Tsushima platinum

 

I never actually figured out how to use the Traveller's Attire and the Guiding Wind to track collectibles till yesterday lol , that made life a lot easier

Well... since I started this thread in 2013 when the PS4 and Xbox One came out, it's only fitting that I show the new PS5. I've no desire for the Xbox since I don't have any friends on that platform.

Once again, as far as consoles go, it really depends on what you want to play and if you want to play online. I play Destiny 2 almost exclusively and it is night and day difference in how much better it plays on PS5 (and I would assume Xbox also). If you want to play online then you will want to get whichever console that your friends play on. If you don't want to play online then you really can't go wrong with either one.

Now... How to get one. That's the hard part and I'm sorry to say, if you happen to get one, consider yourself extremely lucky. I tried to get one from when the preorders started and was finally able to get it from Walmart.com. This is my advise: Create a browser and have every tab open from every retailer that has them up for sale. You will have to keep an eye open on them all the time. Make sure you have your payment info already supplied in each retailers site. The issue is, you are running against bot spammers and they buy up all the stock as soon as it comes up. There is very little chance that you will be able to beat a computer program. Walmart has put in a new system that detects bot spammers so that is probably your best chance of getting one. If you are lucky and are able to get it into your cart, you still most likely will not be able to get it. But DO NOT take it out of your cart. That was the only way I was able to get the PS5 was because I left it in the cart and when new consoles dropped I hit the "checkout" button probably 50 times and it finally took. Best Buy is kind of the same way but the problem with Best Buy is you will have to drive to whatever store they tell you to pick it up. They will not ship to your house. And you can pretty much forget trying to get it off the official PlayStation store.

also looking to get ps5 one day, hows the haptic controller feel in fps games?

 

I normally keep the rumble feature off because I just don't like how it feels. But this new controller is the shit. It isn't nearly as intrusive as the regular rumble that used to be in the old controllers. If you land hard it has a harder haptic feel. When you shoot, each gun feels different, but it doesn't have a negative affect on aiming like the old rumble features.

There is a game demo that comes with the PS5 that really demonstrates the true functionality of the controller. And it is amazing. The triggers are harder to pull under certain circumstances etc... Really good controller.

The only downside is I use an Astro C40 for Destiny. But the problem is, when they ported Destiny to the PS5 it became a true PS5 game separate from the PS4 version (you can still play with PS4 players obviously). But there is not one third party controller that will work with a PS5 game so I'm having to relearn how to play with a regular controller which sucks. I still to this day do not understand why PlayStation will not release an Elite controller like Xbox does? They lost a fuck ton of money due to third party controller makers out there and those controllers were significantly better than the stock controller.

 

I've always been an Xbox guy but since seeing some gameplay of Ghost of Tsushima...I had to get a Playstation....so with the release of the PS5, I was able to get a like new PS4 with 1TB for next to nothing thanks to a coworker who had 2 of them ....wife got me Ghost of Tsushima for Christmas....WOW...love it....also got Spider-Man.....my nephew linked my system to his so I can play any game he has as well.....i'm really enjoying it.

 

Ghost of Tsushima is a great game no doubt. It was a great swan song for the last PS4 Pro game before the PS5 was released.

Wish I would have known that you needed / wanted a PS4 Pro. I would have sold you one for little of nothing with shipping since I have four sitting in my closet right now after securing a PS5 a few weeks ago. I have no use for the Pros anymore other than Blu-ray. The only problem with the Pro is it will be phased out pretty quickly once the PS5's become readily available (which they aren't now). Meaning that there will be a vast majority of games that are created for the PS4 and PS5 that will not be playable on the PS4 Pro IE: Cyberpunk 2077. Playstation has pulled that from their online store but you can still find copies in stores for the PS4 Pro. If you are interested in that game by chance... DO NOT BUY IT FOR THE PRO. It will not work. The PS5 is leaps and bounds over what the Pro has to offer. There is no comparison between what the Pro offers opposed to what the PS5 offers (and I would assume the same holds true for Xbox and the new Xbox).

Sad thing about it is, the Pros days are numbered unless you just want to play PS4 games. But over time those will be phased out and only PS5 games will become available. You got a great game with Ghost of Tsushima, but there will be no other game that matches it on the Pro.

I'm not sure if you are interested in purchasing a PS5 or not. If you are... Please... for the love of god do not buy one from a scalper. They are out there. It took me from when the preorders were released until a couple weeks ago to secure a PS5 from Walmart.com due to them implementing anti-bot software. I luckily had one in my cart from a previous attempt and never took it out. All of my payment info was stored also. But it still took me clicking the "checkout" button over 50 times to finally get it to go through and get conformation that I actually had secured one. It came in about three days later.
