Yep, I've got a 2013 GMC work truck that I ride in 90% of the time. The Taco is the carport queen.

Oh yeah, recently moved to Ringgold, Ga area and got on with TVA so life is good. Came up from Central Florida specifically Melbourne, and we did about 5 trips up here to pinpoint where we were buying. I have a 2020 Manual Sport 4x4 that just got its first round of mods this last week. But sliders, 2" spacer for front - for now- and rear full length AAL was added first week of ownership as i was towing Alot between Florida and here. Anyway, avid wheeler, drag racer - 1983 4 eye Notch with 347, and looking to get back to camping., Florida was too hot 11 months out of the year. Have metal for body mount chop, but just put 1.25 wheel spacers on and sadly will be a bit before i order my 285's as put a massive hoke in my damn Tractors ag tire, in 1st week of ownership, and that fuxker is expensive. Oh that bushog is 1100 pounds and way oversized but did great in the Taco

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

I actually am probably closer to Rock Springs, I live off Hooper Rd which is off of Lane and Alabama Hwy. I work Nuclear Cybersec, so I'm out of Corporate (Chattanooga) but will go to all our Nuclear sites regularly. Launched rockets and shuttles for years so this is a welcome change and challenge!

Rather than continuing an extensive forum search, I figure I'd ask local folks...
I need recommendations on headlights. My '13 has developed an internal haze on the original headlamps from the DRLs (I'm assuming). I thought it was exterior hazing and did a restoration but found it to be hazing on the inside. Replacement is my next investment on this truck, but I've read mixed ideas. Some folks are very unhappy with TacomaBeast/Spyder assemblies due to output and poor sealing, others love 'em. Some people say OEM is brighter than the aftermarket projector assemblies. Should I just get some TYC and retrofit? I'm torn, but what I do know is that I don't wanna spend over $400 on a pair. Any ideas, gang?

If it was me, I’d go the TYC route. Tacoma beast is just a highly marked up re-sell, and Spyder is about the lowest quality you could go from what I understand (my in laws have Spyder on an old beater truck and they leaked/peeled in a year). With the TYC/DIY retrofit route, you’d know what’s going in there and have control of how good the build quality is. Or spend extra on Depo lights if you wanted a little better UV coating and the OEM sport headlight look (aside from your retro parts of course).

I've had em all. I'm currently running oem retrofits. Don't get the Tacomabeast crap. If you want those, get them off eBay and buy the extended warranty. You will use it. Plus output is truly garbage. You will be happy with unboxing and daytime but sad at night.

I made retrofits w non oem. They're unable to be adjusted even though they have the knobs. Good times! I may swap out those internals w oem housings.

One of the 5 downtown buildings, I have only been to it once to get my computers and other items. Have been in Alabama for alot of requirements and Sequoyah for training. I am set to go into the office starting in January.

Do any of you guys happen to know of any camping around the Ft. Mountain area that isn’t in the state park? Chatsworth / Ellijay are both nearby towns.

I’ve been looking in this area lately too we like to go to the state park but are trying to find something else camping wise to take my 2yo son. I can’t get too primitive with him and my wife but I was told Doll Mountain on carters lake by a friend. I’m looking all over but trying to find something more like lake dockery /smaller lake and less sites but in the same area you are.

Best bet is going to be the Cohutta. Just a little farther East on 52 is a south entrance. Also, Peeples Lake is just south on 411. They use to allow camping, it’s been 2 years since I’ve been there though, not sure if it’s still open for camping or not.

Ah yeah, unless I'm looking in the wrong places the nearest campsite looks to be over an hour away. Thanks for the suggestion.
