Going to be upgrading my suspension and lifting her a bit very soon. Went down to 4 Wheel Parts and got recommended to do a Bilstein 5100 package. With lift blocks in the back. I’ve got a summit front bumper, snug too hi liner, will be installing a roof rack, new rear bumper, rock sliders and a bed situation in the back. Can I get some feedback from you more suspension savvy folks as to whether this sounds adequate for the weight? Been doing a lot of research but there SO much out there it can be overwhelming.

    Thanks a lot

You’ll probably bottom out on your bump stops in the rear with just blocks with just a little added weight in the rear. Having tried it, I’d recommend add-a-leafs and blocks or just get new springs.

Thanks for that. I was wondering about new leaf springs for the back as well. Would like to just get the system down now and now have to keep going back and adding things as problems arise.

That would be great thanks a lot!!! That's the other option that I was contemplating. I will usually have my Snug Top on there with a sleeping platform mimimum (plus new rear bumper). If i take the topper off and the bed out it is most likely because i need to haul heavy stuff.

1" blocks are fine, but with a topper, I'd do AAL or Spring set.

Front with bumper I'd say new coils with the 5100's to proper address the weight, not just compensate with preload.

Originally I was looking into the OME Lift kit becuase it has coils and springs. This seemed like a more comprehensive setup that would be ready for more load in the future But I'm not sure how "ride quality" would differ between this and the Bilsteins? I'm not looking for a silky smooth ride but I'm on a lot of Forest service roads and this thing is rattling my fillings.

Anyone have an opinion on the Bilstein 5100 setup vs the OME 2 inch lift kit?

OME is a great setup and will handle the weight better.

I was recommended the Icon RXT leaf springs for my 2nd gen over the Dakar pack.

Reviews on the Icon set seem to be more favorable over the Dakars but it may be personal preference

stock rear leafs will sag after a year with no significant load in the bed of the truck.... i'd recommend HD dakar springs with what you are planning...

Ok, so I put the 5100s on my 2019 TRD OR DCLB with 285/75/16s on the stock OR wheels, and as predicted its rubbing the stock UCA at full lock. Should wheel spacers help fix this? What size spacers are people running?
