Ready lift leveling kit and got 275/70/17 A/T tires and wheels, planning to get Accutune Fox 2.5 coil-over stage 3 shocks front and back
    Hi,

I have 2020 Tacoma Trd Off Road, i recently lifted my truck and got 275/70/17 A/T. I started noticing vibration while breaking slowly in between 20-30 miles speed. Other thing i noticed was while going in between 40-50 i get other different vibration like (jeezee jeeeze) rubbing feeling in the steering wheel. Note sure what is causing the issue. I tried 4H and dont feel any of those two issues. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I noticed a weird sorta rub in my steering wheel after lifting as well...

As far as the speed related vibration, does it also shake when accelerating between 20-30 and go away above 30? If so, its a tire balance issue more than likely. Also, did you retorque (or torque to begin with) your wheels? Did you have an alignment after your lift?

Edit: just noticed the part about the speed while accelerating. Still possible wheel balance issue, but see below reply about the carrier bearing

What I can’t believe is that Toyota still has NOT remedied this condition. WTF they know what people buy these for! I will also add that my gen 2 2015 made grinding vibes in front after about 3 months post lift. Wheel bearings are garbage for these trucks with heavier tires especially load E MT’s. They go to shit sooooooo fast even good bearings don’t hold up. I just put in 3 rd set this week 110 k miles. I did ECGS bushing after new bearings cleared up most but not all the bushing got it. Huge pain in the ass to install. Actually install easy getting old needle bearings out SUCKS mine was pushed in too far for the special tool no way I used a die grinder and patience to get it out. Good luck.

It’s not an issue on unmodified trucks. I wouldn’t expect them to fix it...

While that is correct it’s just one of those things. What would be really awesome is if you could buy one built, like Ford is doing with the Raptor and new Broncos you can get it the way you want. If you want a plain old pedestrian truck you get the Grandpa F 150 with chrome all over it and crappy street tires or you go balls deep and go Raptor. Same with Bronco you want plain you can get plain or you go all the way and get steel plate protection with lift and 33’s stock! I just feel like Toyota is sleeping at the wheel, and I think it’s going to cost them.

I installed 3 degree axle shims on mine and eliminated similar vibrations.

Is this the same or something different? When does it happen?

Yes its the same, while speeding between 40-50 i get the rubbing noise on the steering wheel. I also do have the OEM bushing with me which i can see there is a damage on that, hoping that was the cause but now i am not sure what else to check.
