    YAAAS!

So, I tested my Hellas yesterday and found that the passenger horn doesn't work. Ordered some replacements today. I am positive it is the horn because they were just working fine less than a month ago and the wiring is fine. They have held up well for 6 years (ordered the set on the truck in 2014) and the pricing on these have some down A LOT in 6 years. They were $75 shipped from Summit in 2014. The ones I ordered today were $35 shipped. I will see if I can dissect the faulty horn and make it work but it might just be dead. I plan to clean up the current wiring too and tuck some things away and make it neater.

I have an electronic air horn from Carson Siren in addition to my Hella horns. Lemme tell ya, people get right the hell outta my way when I hit em with the very authoritative air horn. I disabled all but the horn and the phaser tone on mine, but here's what I rock: https://carson-mfg.com/sa-361-defender/

Phaser function is really good for the muleys and pronghorn around here, offroad use only of course. They couldn't care less about the horn, but the phaser gets them up and out so quick. I suppose it could get me an illegal equipment violation, but the cops in my life have all said that I'd have to be doing something honestly retarded to get yanked for it.

If you can get Mercedes 600 Grosser horns somewhere, thatd be sweet. Those things arent as obnoxious as train horns, but will absolutely sound like a tanker ship is coming through your back window.

Meso FINALLY put up some map lights for sale on his website just now. Snagged a pair of reds. Going to do some testing with them when they arrive and hang on to the extras for now.

These things seem like they are getting more rare on his site...

His lights are ridiculous. I have a white dome light and the selectable map lights. A single map light is plenty, and keep in mind only half the led board it lit up. They're just silly and I love them.

So, over the weekend, I got started on the workshop project and I made some good progress on Saturday afternoon.

I welcome any and all criticism from ya'll. All the supplies shown were repurposed from the previous setup and left overs from my worktable.

    BEFORE:

    DURING:

    8D79168B-6201-475A-94A6-399589026455.jpg

    So much room for activities:

    57AE3515-470C-40B1-8042-6779CB0CF8B7.jpg F891909C-FEC5-4D9A-92CE-CCF144F3409B.jpg AAF01973-7219-4994-9BA2-A12A4522EBA0.jpg 5737EBDF-1948-4B9F-9ECA-C20ACC97EFE5.jpg

Trying to decide if I want to place another shelf on the left side above the current one in addition to some on the right of the new, foldable workbench or a tall metal cabinet for storage of liquids etc. Thinking the latter.

I think it will be more of a "trial by fire" project and will need updates as I go.

Next project is some lights for under the shelf and another powerstrip like the worktable just not as long (less outlets). Going to cruise Amazon and see what I can find.

Since I cannot fit cabinets above the workbench like I was hoping for, I think I will pick up some pegboard and hooks for storing tools.

The current toolbox will be stripped down and the lower section will be used as a roll cart (similar to the one under the worktable). Just not sure what to to with the upper and middle sections yet. A new, bigger toolbox will be purchased and the centerpiece of this project. Really excited about that.

Again, I welcome any and all criticisms and ideas.

    Mornin,

Had a question regarding your bumper. After you added the full hoops did you redo the entire powdercoat/rattlecan? I dont know if i should just tape off the rest of the bumper and hit the hoops with a satin black to match the existing powdercoat? A little expensive to blast down the entire bumper to put a new powdercoat on.

    wanna be mods
    Do IT!

Had a set on my '85 LeBaron...man they never suspected it coming! Hell it was (again 16-17yrs old) great laughs watching people jump, drop keys (pre-smart phone era), etc. Have considered upgrading the horn on the Taco, between train horn or the cadillac horn options = full tilt/dB vs. classic Americana!

The RED leds put out a ton of light, so much so that it isn't really "faded" in the bright daylight. My wife referred (after realizing the mod was done) the truck for a while as the Redlight District.

I just hit it with Rust-Oleum satin black. It's only aluminum so I am not really worried about rust or anything. I just hit it whenever it's needed.

No sir. I sold all my stuff years ago. My group of friends that said we would be going all the time all had a falling out with the divorce; they all took her side.

I'm looking forward to getting the horns and seeing reactions too man lol. I received the lights the other day. I have those and the replacement Hellas to install this weekend. Included below is the maglite I'm "rebuilding":

Bummer dude. I stopped playing in 06/07 when I had to get a real job and couldn't do the tournament scene anymore. I bought another DM6 for dirt cheap for my bachelor party and now it all just sits in the basement. I'd love to pick it up again but I have enough hobbies.

Although it's been a while, I played and competed for years and left for similar reasons. It was mostly wood ball back when I played and was just starting to transition to field when I got out. It was a great time for the sport and I had the chance to compete with a lot of the greats from that era; The AA's, Bad Company, Iron Men, Lockout, Tour de Force, Aftershock, OBR, etc.

And damn sorry to hear about your crew Geekhouse!
