Anybody have issues after carrier bearing/u joint replacement? I recently replaced the bearing and u joints and now I have vibrations at varying speeds.

I had the infamous takeoff vibrations prior to the replacement and the oem carrier bearing was essentially nonexistent. Now, I have no takeoff vibes but do get vibes at 25-40, 55-65 and 75+ mph.

I have tried repositioning the carrier bearing, the carrier bearing drop kit, and all that changes is the speed at which the vibrations happen. What gives? Do I need to have the driveshaft balanced? I’ve double checked everything and it all appears to be correctly installed. Any help is appreciated.

Did you add any lift to the rear, or is this a stock truck with driveline vibes?

Did you mark the driveshaft's radial positions on each side of the carrier bearing prior to separating for replacement? They need to go back together the same way they came apart....

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
This. your driveshaft is out of phase now. Doesn’t matter at the diff flange or tranfer case output flange but the driveshaft is balanced in phase will all these pieces aligned in a particular fashion. They must remain that way in order to stay balanced or get rebalanced is your only option. Not a huge deal, doesn’t take very long.

Recently went through this and thinking of getting mine balanced next week. Did you get yours balanced, did it fix the vibes? Thanks!
