When I took my Taco in for a state inspection, I asked the garage to adjust the clutch, it had been slipping a bit when in gear, the rpm's would rise. The garage told me that there is no adjustment and I will need a new clutch, which is hard to believe at 45,000 miles!! They gave me an estimate of $1,600 and recommended that I contact Toyota to see if there are any issues concerning the clutch. I sent Toyota and email and haven't heard from them yet. I had a 2011 Tacoma, 4 cylinder manual that had over 120,000 miles on the same clutch. Has anyone else had this problem with a V6 Toyota?

I can tell you unless something leaked or failed, a wearable item has very very limited coverage.

The clutch is worn plain and simple.

    welcome to TW

That's a tricky one. 45k is early for a clutch for sure, but it's possible to wear it excessively pretty quick if you're not careful. A lot of guys are regularly getting more more milage on these clutches without blinking, so whatever you've got going on is definitely not normal.

you might get more answers in the Manual Transmission thread. I'd copy and paste your post there and see what the gang thinks.
