To be more specific about this. It is to prevent the water heater from igniting OTHER flammable liquids or gases from the area such as gasoline, not the gas from the water heater it's self.

    All down here
    Even an electric can spark.
If it can happen it will happen as we say so we tend to take the safe side

    Yea doesn’t matter down here.
Unless it’s in the attic or an outside access closet sealed off from rest or structure can it be on floor in a pan. There’s all kinds of grandfathered units but once it goes out must come up to present code at all possible

This is the important part, because IF something happens, those pencil pushing, red tape creating insurance agents might try to say it's your fault and try to get out of paying for anything.

If you have patience go to harbor freights Facebook. They may be dropping new us general colors.

I’ve got blue also though and love it.

Saw then on IG. They’re all matte finished which is nice but also wonder how easy it’ll clean up. Nice to have more color choices!

Here’s mine. Kind of stuffed full of shit right now as we’re remodeling our kitchen....but its functional. It’s kind of catch-all at the moment. Not the setup i want, but its make do for now. I have yet to rebuild what i had prior to my divorce 16 years ago.
