How did you mount your flag up front? We took my son's F150 out on the sand because I wouldn't let him rig something lame on my truck. I need to be able to add and remove it with ease. I will be going back several times a year now that I have a place to stay there. My son expects to have several of his friends camping on their 10 acres so they can all play out on the dunes on a regular basis starting next summer.

The "ready made" mounts are too short for tacos.. i purchased a 1.5x36x3/16" steel bar from a local hardware store, cost $10. Unfortunately all my tools are in houston so i paid $15 for a local shop to cut it to 19" and drill 2 1/2" holes on either end (or in other words 30 seconds of work). One for the pole and the other gets sandwiched between the bolt next to the tow hook and the frame

Got a chance to go back to silver lake dunes and glad i did! I stumbled into toyota takeover 2.0! Most of these guys came from chicagoland area for the weekend, we wheeled for the entire morning together, really cool group of guys. We hit test hill, trails in the back, and all over. Not sure if any of them are on here but a couple of them had gopros and seemed to get some good footage

Also recommend you make 2 45* bends at either end so it rises up along the bumper.. luckily mine has not ripped out yet but the fellow 3rd gen i saw today had his like this after it got sucked under along with the flag when it was straight out like mine

@TexTacToe Hey glad you saw us an swung in, I've got the grey Tacoma. Was glad you came over and got to hang out some. I ended up breaking my left front headlight and lower bumper valance after sending it a bit too hard over one of the dunes.

Hey man great to meet and wheel with you as well. No way when did that happen?! After yall came back after lunch? I definitely sent it pretty hard on one of the inclines but avoided damage luckily

Time for a new hybrid front bumper and led headlights

After lunch one of the dunes after Test Hill, far right side. Decent climb and was carrying a bit of speed.. upon further review looks like. Radiator support got pushed up and broke the headlight tabs on both RS and LS, both fender to bumper brackets cracked as well so bumper keeps popping out.

Would love to do a aftermarket bumper, just not wanting to spend the $$ on one..lol

Thinking about maybe doing a Saturday day trip to St Helen area sometime soon... 4Runners been sitting on jack stands for the past month waiting on a pair of back ordered coilovers; was told they should hopefully ship this week. Will be itching to get out somewhere once it’s finally all buttoned back up (that is assuming they ever actually show up; and before October’s over).

I may want to join you for a daytrip adventure. Never been to St. Helen for any off roading. It is to be hoped those coilovers show up soon for you.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Wish I was still up there, I'd join in. We used to camp in the Roscommon area as kids and Standish area more recently. Long haul from VA! I miss MI, but the winters here are much better.

If anyone is looking for a nice pair of CBI sliders for a 2nd / 3rd gen, I just posted my set up for sale. In Grand Rapids area. Only mentioning it here since MI might as well be the moon for buying and selling parts for a decent price most of the time.

Phew... finally shipped today. Looking like an ETA of Tuesday. Plenty of time to get them in and setup for the weekend.

So tentatively throwing out the date of Saturday October 10th for St Helen

Finally all back together and ready for the weekend; after a brief FedEx scare... box was lost for a couple days in Illinois, then arrived torn wide open; but thankfully no damage and everything was still there.

If anyone's up for it, we're planning on being in St Helen by 11am Saturday. Let me know and can throw out a spot to meet up at.

Me and a couple friends did over the weekend, around grayling and Mio areas. Was a decent amount of snow.
