I thought I’d give my impressions on these tires as there is virtually no info out on the old interweb related to these tires.

I have ran Duratracs , Wildpeaks and many other of the big brand tires. I went to finally upgrade the stock wranglers on my 2019 OF only to find everyone out of stock on most tires that I wanted to run (Mostly coopers) in the 265/75R16

Enter the MotoMaster. This tire is made by Cooper for Canadian Tire specifically.

These came highly recommended to me by a friend who lives on a rural mountain and spends most of his time on gravel roads , windy mountain pass highways and lots of snow. He runs them on his diesel Colorado , and just recently put a set on his 3rd gen 4Runner as well.

I called up Crappy T and they had a set in stock and could fit me in for install that day , so I said what the heck.

I went with the 265/75R16 in an e rated because I quite frequently load up my Tacoma and like the extra stiffness of the E rated tires , always have.

The day I got them mounted was an absolute downpour (50-60mm in a day) the roads were pooling and I hit the highway to test them out.

The next day the roads were bone dry and sun was blazin , and again I hit the highway to test them out.

Following that i got them into the mountains and really put them to the test on a very rocky / rooty trail , about 60km of washboard FSR travel , and they climbed up some switch backs to some view points.

Dry pavement: I was beyond impressed with these tires , even my wife commented on how it felt like we were “floating on a cloud”. The noise was there a bit , but less then a Duratracs in my opinion. In the corners and mountain pass highways is where they really shined , but lots of this is in part due to the E rated tire not flexing in corners as much and reducing body roll and oversteer. They are quite a stiff tire so the slower un even side streets is the one down side to them , all tires have pros and cons in my opinion ... I can live with this.

Wet pavement: I was shocked at how much better they were then the stock wranglers which I considered to be a fairly good rain tire. On the highway hitting all the pools they tracked extremely well and never once did I feel like I was skating around. From a stop light with heavy throttle they would hook up well (you could get them to spin , but what tire won’t on a pickup with nothing in the bed) but once up to highway speeds in the corners and such , I felt very very comfortable with them.

Off-road: Gravel roads they stuck too like glue , didn’t carry much rock in the tread after getting back to pavement either which was nice. In the rocky trails , again being an e rated tire they were stiff , but the traction was fantastic, I actually walked right up one spot that fought me 2 weeks before in the same type of weather. My wife was watching the tires and it grabbed a wicked line on some boulders and stuck to them , where the wranglers had kept slipping off before. I was really not being nice to these tires , trying to dive the sidewalls into rocky / rooty sections and climb out of them just to see how they would grab and fold. I was running 35 psi and still impressed with the lines they were grabbing and not slipping off wet slippery rocks. I’d like to air them down and give them another shot around 25 psi so they would conform to rocks better and be more comfortable on the boulders trails. I’ve had everything from built Toyota’s on 40” iroks , to tube chassis rock crawlers on 39” sticky company red labels. These motomaster tires were no slouch in the thick of it.

Looks: Really like the balance of all terrain with a slightly more aggressive sidewall , have gotten quite a few compliments on them. They have a very industrial look to them which I like.

Value: this was one of the main reasons I got the tires ... by far one of the best bang for your buck in my opinion , I was just under $1200 out the door all in (which included Canadian tires $52 extra warranty , mount and balance , all tax and tire levy) and Canadian tires warranty , specially on their own tire is hard to beat.

The friend that recommended them has 55,000 Km’s on his and they are wearing very evenly and still drive very smooth on his Colorado. These tires are made by Cooper, specifically for Canadian tire which I found to be intriguing. They balanced extremely well with minimal weights and have had them at 80, 100 , 120 and 140 and were arguably smoother then the wranglers with no shakes or shimmy’s at all. Road noise increased for sure over the stock wranglers , but again I’d say they were quieter then a new set of Duratracs , which I’ve ran probably 4-5 sets on various vehicles.

I look forward to getting them into snow , from what I hear this may be one of their best attributes as I’m told they handle themselves very well.

Quite pleased with them so far , so there you go ... a little insight for a relatively unknown and rarely talked about tire.

Good old Canadian Tire, one of the stores I really miss since moving to the US. I think I still have some Canadian Tire bucks stashed away some where, lol! :canada:

I also looked at them. They were the cheapest A/T that Canadian tire sold. The store has ratings for wet, dry, snow and ice and the tire didn't rate them very high. It was under 90% while all the other brands were middle to upper 90's. I ended up buying the Duratrac's they were $300 off for 4 tires. Glad they work for you.

This rating ? It was 97.5 which was higher then the Duratrac.

Just making sure we provide the real facts :)

I was going to get a 6th set of Duratracs myself , but I just decided to try something different for once, and I’m very happy I did.

With all this Covid stuff , a lot of the tire shops were saying tires were very hard to get as factories were not producing as many , I really had my eye on Toyo AT3’s but were impossible to find.

Sorry about that I thought I saw 87. Maybe the store had them mislabelled.

Nice ! honestly these tires KILL it ... the stiffness in them (my only complaint) went away after 8000km ish and now they are like a cloud.

I have tested these things in all the conditions now and am even more impressed with them then when I initially wrote a review on them ... they are just so much smoother then a duratrac and super quiet on the highway , they are also better in the snow then a duratrac IMO and i've owned 5 sets of D-Tracs

that’s the big thing. They basically are sold out of 265/75/16 tires across the country. I’ve been waiting for 255/85/16 st maxx but was told a couple months on back order.

Didn't realize the wait was that long.

The main reason I buy tires from CT (but not installed at CT :) ) is that there is likely a CT store anywhere within 100 km of where I travel. I can't say that about Costco or Kal tire or ...

I had Canadian tire install my ko2’s on my 2005 Tacoma that I’m not all that fussy about and they didn’t so much as put a scratch on the wheels. My local Toyota dealer had scratched, gouged my new 4runner’s wheels and my 2020 tundra’s wheels. Guess it all depends on the person doing the work.

Appreciate the write up on these!

I was looking at them in the Canadian Tire flyer last week and was wondering how good they actually are. Totally forgot cooper makes their tires.

The 245/75R16 set is regular $715.96 on sale for $536.96. Great deal. But then there is the $20/tire recycle fee. But still good savings.

The thread pattern and siping looks really good. I wish they came with a beefier sidewall, just looks a bit thin to me. I’ve always had good experience with KO2s , had some pirelli scorpions and duratracs too. I loved my duratracs in the snow, just amazing.

I’m thinking to try out Toto AT3 next but the sidewall looks kind of weak to me. KO2s have the thickest lugs on the sidewall out of all AT tires and they do really good off-road.

I always recycle my old tires at this place by my house for free. I would never pay 80$ for that.

some provinces don’t give you a choice. The enviro fee is added at the time of purchase, this is why in my province you can take old tires to any tire shop free of charge
