Hey guys below you’ll find my beautiful 2004 5 lug. A lot of my friends have been telling me to lift it an inch or two and get bigger tires. Has anyone done this and has it changed the driving experience of the truck at all? How much worse is your mpg? Is it pricey? I want to hear your thoughts! Also, if you have any other modification recommendations, shoot them my way!! Cheers!! [IMG]

The leveling kits for 5lugs will stiffen the rear just a little. Front stays about the same. Kits cheap maybe like 250. Wont give you much hight. Maybe another 1“.

So you cant really go any larger on tires. Maybe a 1” overall and stay about the same width.

all that combined you wont really mess with MPG at all. Probably no noticeable loss

I'd level it with v6 coils and spacer, then put like 30s on it and call it a day. Would look good and still scoot

Yeah the rough ride in the rear from the level is because of a AAL. If you opt not to do that it will ride like stock. Or get a shackle in the rear if you want hight and it will ride like stock too for the most part

i would only say lift it if you need some clearance. If you want a super tall truck I would say get a 6 lug. Its not impossible with a 5lug, but for sure requires extra research and you have fewer options. You could always slam it and put a turbo in it!!!!

Leave it alone, 5 lugs really are good at racking up miles stock and being easy and cheap to fix. Hate to say it but 6 lug is the truck to lift.
Saying this as a 5 lug owner.

As a 5 lug owner myself I say he actually does things to it like he's already interested in. Bc it's his truck and he's already leaning that direction. I've put over 3k into my truck and I'd do it again, very fun truck

I think you can fit on slightly bigger tires than stock with just a body lift kit. If you arent planning on going off road thats your cheapest option. I feel the driving was the same before and after I lifted. not sure about the MPG. I noticed a bigger change in mpg when i repaired some exhaust leaks than before and after lifting.

As long as your realistic on what a 5 lug can do its fine. I would avoid a spacer lift, but it's not as bad as people say within reason. Throw some bigger tires for offroading and your good to go.

IMO if you are lifting for aesthetic the spacers are cheap and easy. If you want an off road capable truck I would put money into a locking diff before i lifted it.
