I would be wary of this kit. They say it comes from/ships USA but when you click on that seller's profile, it says they are based in China.

Unfortunately most of the "OEM" timing belt kits on eBay for under $200 are too good to be true. Not saying this one isn't legit but I would be suspicious due to the seller's location. China is well-known for selling fake OEM timing belt kits made and packaged to look just like Toyota parts. Same goes for fake sensors and fuel injectors.

Great point. I have not tried this kit myself, and I am generally very wary of buying parts off of eBay. Having said that, I have heard multiple 1st gen Tacoma owners have positive experiences from that seller and will likely give it a shot myself in the near future.

I myself ended up buying a kit just like that for about the same price, said it shipped from CA not too far from me. Later (after it was installed) I went back and looked and sure enough the seller's profile said they were from China, I got nervous but the truck has been fine so far lol. Put about 4k miles on it, some of them pretty good wheeling miles. Every part and package in the kit looked identical to OEM/Toyota, I remember that much.

If it all goes to hell I'll report back lol. But so far so good, China doesn't always equal cheap knockoffs but they do have a reputation for it that we have to be wary of. If I did it over again I'd just spend the little extra on the aircabinman eBay kit

Hey stop clogging up my thread

Yeah I did a bunch of research when I was looking and everything I read said be careful and AirCabinMan has the best reputation for actual OEM parts and not Chinese stuff pushed as OEM
