As a follow up looking around, I am in the Turtleback Trailer owner's group, mostly families. They are planning a November trip though there as well, I will post dates here if there isn't much interest in case the few rigs that want to go could jump in with that group, mostly Yotas and Jeeps.

That would be awesome. My wife wants to check out the turtleback trailer as it seems to be the more permanent trailer Company.

If you ever want to see 2 of them, there's two here in Mountain House. My buddy just bought a brand new one. I got an older model and updated it like the new ones cause $$$$$ lol.

Ill keep you posted on dates as soon as its nailed down. Looks like they are planning 3-5 days going through the preserve including Mojave Road.

Another thing to keep in mind is the nps limits groups to 5 without a permit. So hopefully the club has a permit you can get on with or keep your group under 5

Is it 5 families/vehicles or 5 total people...?

I know most times the park service wants to make sure everyone has their fire permit, and that people know the rules... and they want a point of contact for if someone does something stupid.
So they have 1 phone call to make

Cool. Let’s have a public gathering and demonstrate or parade through the park. No fee needed for that and no numerical limits either.

My wife, dog, and I would be interested in joining as well. Do you think this trail is doable in a stock 4x4, no locker?

    I'm in SF.

From everything I have read, 4x4 Tacoma stock should be fine as long as no rain.

Isn’t the entry. That river, isn’t there a go around?

    I don’t know. I’m actually curious

I’m hoping wed I’ll have a lot more free time in my life. I can start reading up on the road and making some plans.
And then maybe for folks who don’t want to do the nov turtleback trip and want to go in late October we can schedule a planning session.

And I can also focus on finishing tuning my rwadiayor fan so it works when the ac is turned on...
    Screw you hptuner world

I always carry extra fuel because I had the bypass bed rack built with a spot for a 5 gal jug.
And it’s when you don’t have extra fuel that your buddy runs out. Or it’s freezing and you sleep in your idling truck all night...
Or the weather so bad that instead of driving at 25-30 mph on the trail getting 18-19 mph you are driving 5 mph getting 3 mpg...
