Will the TRD decals peel off without paint damage? Any tips out there?

I just waited for a warm day and they peeled right off, used a little Goo be Gone to remove the adhesive residue, and finished up with wiping it down with a damp microfiber cloth. Took about 5 minutes total time. Never know it had ever been there.

I used hair dryer on low heat and peeled off. Just used paste wax to remove the adhesive

I used hot water to soften up the adhesive and goo gone to remove the remaining adhesive.

I used hot water, hair dryer, and Goo Gone on my last truck, but I also used a few feet of braided fishing line and ended up with light scratches in the clear coat.

Nothing fancy. I just peeled it off and washed off any residual residue. Done

Hated the stickers. So it's a 4x4...cool. Here's what I did. Washed and set out in Texas sun for a few hours. Started peeling it off. Started coming off in chunks. Panicked. Ran to the HW store and picked up the goo gone orange smelling organic stuff. Repeated washing processes and set it in the sun again. Liberal amount of goo gone, assortment of rags, elbow grease and after about 30 minutes per side no remnants of stickers or glue. Or streaks from dust/sand. Washed again and now it stays dirty with no stickers. Just like it should. :D

I wouldn't recommend the eraser wheel. Or at least an air-powered one. I did it like this and thought I had messed up my paint (not my first time using the wheel by any means). I was able to polish the boo boos out.

Anybody can fuck up anything, air is way overkill for an eraser wheel. Chucked in an electric drill and a 10 year old can remove decals.

I probably should have said that the PSI was turned down. I bought it a long time ago off the tool truck. At the time I owned a 1st gen with the entire sides covered in an obnoxious decal. Took it off, no problem. Removed stuff off quite a few vehicles. Motorcycles to cars. Toyota's paint is soft and I may have overheated it a little. No big deal, either way. A few minutes with some scratch remover and an orbital and it was good to go.

Fishing line for a decal or a badge?

That was to act as a “saw” for the 3M tape under the badges.

I don’t know how “tough” a 3rd Gen Tacoma’s clear coat is compared to a 2014 GM pickup.

1CD8AA1A-FCDB-4331-A102-650B44B0B613.jpg I was able to get my badges off of the Tacoma without any damage to the clear coat.

Just used the fishing line to slip between the tape and badge, took off the tape, didn’t take hardly any time after a few sprays of Goo Gone.

Followed up with some spray wash and put it out in the rain.

Let it sit in the sun for a few hours to heat the panels up and then some fishing line to saw back and forth behind the badges. 3M Adhesive Remover is the bees-knees for removing the crud left over.

For the TRD stickers use a blow dryer or heat gun and a thin plastic blade to slowly work behind. Credit/debit cards work well. 3M Adhesive Remover after and you’re set! Let us know how it works out.

Thanks I think hair dryer + thin plastic scraper is the way to go! I’ll probably do it this weekend.
