Heyyo, not sure if anyone lurks around the outdoors section ever, I assume so but not many new posts thought so I figured I'd revive that. In a few days, a few buddies and I are setting off on the Allegheny and Shenandoah Trail through West Virginia and Virginia, we plan on tackling just about all 800 miles of it in about 7 days. Not sure how many overland guys there are kickin around here since I just joined the other day but I figured I'd see if anyone had done it before? As far as I can tell the only ones who have ever done the whole thing are the guys from this group called outbound overland that made the route, their URL is completely jacked by some adware so I can't Imagine their to active but I sent them a message on FB just in case someone still checked their social accounts.

Anyway, this is my first real long overland trip (never done more than 1 tank on a trip before) so any advice anyone who has might have to feel free to throw it down there! In terms of spare parts, I'm not too worried as I will be within 45 mins of an AutoZone almost the whole time. Also if anyone was wondering, here is the Gia link to the route https://www.gaiagps.com/public/TAfa...nGVd5MDFfFG8x1qtrzwE?layer=GaiaTopoRasterFeet

800 miles in 7 days is pretty ambitious. Good luck!

I’ve been on sections. Mostly dirt roads so you can make time. It’s an overland route, not an off-road route so 7 days is totally doable

I shop-vac'ed 4 gallons of bog water out of my carpet, pulled my trim up and put a blower fan under each side for 24hrs, and had two of those gallon sized damp rid buckets in my truck and on a hot day if I left my windows up there would be condensation on the inside of the windows and it would feel like a green house two months later, finally did dry out and there's fortunately no smell or mold but I try and keep it below the sliders from now on.

I didn't even know this route existed and I live about a hour and a half from it's most southern point.
    How was the trip?

How was the trip? Link to a ride report or anything?

I've ridden dirt bikes all over the trails off of 33, west of Harrisonburg. Some of which are part of the route. I could take all dirt and gravel roads from my driveway and be on the northern part of this loop in 35 minutes below Paw Paw. Been driving on some of those roads in the route too. So yeah, I'm interested in how this went. I'd like to do it a section at a time.
