i pulled my 198 v series skiff today and it pulled fine. My question is running at 65-70mph it was staying at almost 3000rpm. I will tow this boat up to 4 hrs one way about once-twice a year. Is that anything to be concerned about mechanically? I’m not worried about the fuel. 2014 4.0 v6 4wd

You are fine. Assuming it’s an automatic just keep it in 4 not D while towing and the rpm’s are what they are. A lot of people get concerned about the rpm’s while towing in 4 but you shouldn’t be. Your owners manual tells you to tow in 4. You have nothing to be concerned about.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
I’ve towed a 3300 lb travel trailer approx 10,000 miles. I’ve always followed the owners manual towing section Also have had my truck serviced per Owners Manual service requirements under “towing” requirements. Yes rpm level is concerning to me, even irritating. Also when I consider the 0 weight oil in these things. I’m old and have built many hp engines. 0 weight oil makes no sense to me except this vehicle was designed by automotive engineers which I am not.

Ur good, are your tralior tires rated for 70mph? If ur auto a transmission cooler is always good. Mabye a ultra gauge or scan gauge to monitor transmission temps.
