Just saw a guy on the H1 with a URD intercooler in his grille and wondered - is there a shop or person here on Oahu who works on installing and support for URD systems? Especially if they have service part items on stock for quicker fixes.

Couple of days and no replies yet, so I'll thicken the pot some.

I have a 2nd gen Tacoma (2.7L) with the URD kit already installed on it. I bought the truck abroad (had a mechanic friend who lives there do the inspection), and up until recently it ran absolutely fine. Then there was a very slight discernible whine, which has now become a deafening one. Conversations with Gadget at URD diagnose it as a failing/failed Rotrex unit, and that seems to be conferred by the rest of the internet. As of right now, the truck runs (removed the supercharger from the loop with the stock serpentine belt), and am told it can be run this way indefinitely - which gives me time to consider my options.

I know, I know, there's probably a lot of "would've, could've, should've" or "that's why I don't buy/trust the URD/Rotrex," but we're beyond that now and I am looking for help and/or solutions. While I could bite the bullet and buy another Rotrex head unit, slap it on and call it a day, the reality is I may be back in the same place a few years from now, which I quite honestly don't know if I'd like to contend with again. I'm contemplating returning the truck back to a more stock version of its current self (as the kit is more bolt-on than anything else), but I'm not 100% about some of the plumbing as well as the modifications to the ECU since I did not install the kit nor have I seen a 2.7L in stock form (outside of pictures I can find here and online).

What I'm hoping to do is connect with someone who has experience with the system and can help think through possibilities, weigh options, and/or may even have a cache of stock bits I would need. Or, if anyone knows of any other options that I could possibly explore, I'd be open to hearing it.

Anyhow, a bit of a long post but thanks for listening.
