    @monkeyevil based on my research and all these great reports, I'm very interested in the Victory rooftop rack for my 2012 access cab. But I don't want to install myself. Do you have any recommendations in Colorado Springs or Denver to do the install? Or should any competent mechanic be able to do it? (I do know a few of those....)

    Great choice with the victory........but you definitely do not need a mechanic to pit it together. It really is that easy. It comes with everything you need other than the silicone to waterproof the holes. The youtube video that Victory puts out helps you step by step.

    Thanks! Yes, the video is great and I could assemble the rack, I'm sure. But don't I have to drill into my truck to attach it? That scares the $%&! out of me.

    Ok, here is the best advice that I can give you. The first thing I would do is head over to the Colorado forums and put out a general message of other TW members that might help you out, that have done one before, and are confident in their skills to help you out on the cheaper end. TW is a great community that helps their own. I would help you but unfortunately I live in MA.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/colorado.172/

    The second thing I would do is head over here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/colorado-4x4-shops-vendors.361957/

    It is an older thread but there are a lot of offroad shops in your area that you can pay to get it done at. Heftyfabworks, 3D off road, and predator 4wd are in your area.

    Thanks that's helpful. I know Predator, it's next door to my regular mechanic. I can talk to them. I also have a buddy who is a Taco owner who might be able to help. I really appreciate the thoughts.

    Another thing I will be looking for is advice about is a pretty secure gear box that would be good on this roof rack. I'm looking to be able to lock stuff up in there at trailheads. I know that nothing is super secure at trailheads, but another step up from the topper, which is not secure at all, is what I'm looking for.

    True.....but it is lockable and I have able 100lbs of recovery gear and tools in mine. I also like the foam inserts for it so my stuff doesn't rattle. Good luck sir.

    Cool! I will check that out. Great idea. And the thieves will be so disappointed if they get in there and find only fishing gear.

    There are a bunch of great shops on the front range, and I'm sure the CO forum will have suggestions. I do know that Trail Jeeps in Golden can handle it as well. Don't let the Jeeps name fool you :D

    @monkeyevil

    I didn't quite catch this on the website...is local pickup an option to save on shipping? My parents live in NE Ohio and I can drive out to MI from there (on my way to Silver Lake sand dunes :headbang::mudding:)

    Great answer, BTW! I was wondering this too.
