Did you work the snap ring in on the start? Or did you just hammer it in? If you set it in and press it in while pushing down on the shaft it will not get pinched. From looking at the ends they seem to be sheared off I would say it looks like it was forced in before it was seated... below is a pic of a factory ring with some miles on it. Also the first CV I built I just slammed the clip in and part of it got cut off and compromised the link... Anyway hope this helps

looking @ your pic again and the fact that both ends are sharp on the same sides I would say they were cut on the splines and were not seated properly when being installed... Also that one side towards your wrist almost matches the splines shape perfectly...

I have to agree with both of you. I didn’t do the install, but I have discussed the thought with those who did. We are going to cycle the front and look, but can’t see anyway that a bind occurred that would have put that much force to shear the ring.

Spoke with shop today. They have been on the phone with RCV and TC. Seems this isn’t uncommon at full droop (even limited) and full lock turn. Not sure if is willow that completely yet, but that was the current word. Supposedly the TC engineer is looking into it for this suspension setup.

Limit straps do stretch but in the end it's just simple geometry so something was out of alignment for this to happen. I have always set my limit straps lock to lock lifted not with wheels straight... Curious how many extended travel kit's has this shop installed? If you strap it with the wheels straight you will over extend them when lock to lock. Any way for that ring to snap there was a bit of a bind and it was either strapped or bumped improperly so this would be the first thing to check. Any way hope this helps

Thank you for the guidance, agree with you, but the dimple where the snap ring broke appear could have been incorrect install also. Will ensure the limits are set on full lock this go around also.
