    Sooo....

My radio doesn’t turn on and my climate control panel lights also don’t come on.

I checked all the fuses I thought (what google said) could be the issue, any ideas?

I don’t really wanna pull the radio and check it’s fuse right now, don’t know how it’d affect the Climate lights.

Disregard the climate control lights being out, dimmer switch problems.

    hopefully it’s the radio fuse

Replaced the oem radiator a couple of years ago due to a crack at the neck. I was surprised to see pitting in the metal where the upper radiator hose is secured to the water outlet.
3.4l Auto has only had the pink or red Toyota antifreeze.
So, once a year I now drain out some fluid from the bottom drain cock and add a new bottle of "Kool-It 96001". States to replace once a year.
I do this because it supposed to prevent corrosion, electrolysis, etc. Not sure about the reducing heat part. I have a UltraGauge (wired) and the temp has always run between 190 and 194.

    @Speedytech7

Do you happen to know, for sure, what the gear ratio your old truck was running? I had Brennen send me a picture of his door jamb. It has a B03A gear code, which is 4.10, but it also says it's an A340F transmission.

I've done a mod or two
It's 4.10. Everything but the axles was swapped from my old 1995 truck which had 3.58, wasn't gonna keep those haha

Alright, just making sure. Rear axle is smoked. Don't want him to have mismatched front/rear.

(Edit... more specifically the 3rd member is smoked)

My kid is in Colorado. He's stationed at Ft Carson.

I'm hoping this guy still has this axle.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rear-gears-4-10-ratio-with-carrier-8-4”.661126

Also hoping there may be one of these TWers in the Colo Springs area that could maybe help him with an axle swap. He has helped me with a lot of stuff on my truck, but an axle swap may be a bit over his head without me there helping... and finding a place to do it, living in the barracks, isn't simple.

I think it may be frowned upon to do an axle swap in the barracks parking lot o_O

@Uphillshunter Only thing I have left is the carrier with a 4:10 ring and the pinion gear, no housing. Problem is the gears are missing teeth (looks like the did some meth) I don't think that will help out but i can take pictures if you want.

At least he's not stranded. He bought a Subaru a few months ago.

I just noticed it was really fucked when we were out there visiting. I told him to park it till we get something figured out.

Thanks brotha... I'm hoping the axle listed near him is still available. It would make things a lot more simple.

Damn, how'd the diff die? It had got new fluid in Jan of 2019 and a fresh magnetic plug. The old plug didn't have any chunks or shavings to warn of that happening.

Also having no luck finding a 95.5 - 97 regular cab parts truck. Did pick up a 4runner though.

Not sure. He hasn't even driven it much. He's been deployed twice to Afganistan and also bought a Subaru since he's had it.

It is what it is. Old trucks break. Not a huge problem. I did notice the angle of the drive shaft to pinion flange is crazy steep. Not sure if that had something to do with it.
