Made another trip down to this country last weekend. I posted some pics in the scenic pics thread, but I figured I would share a few more. Started by heading out to our old deer camp SE of LaPine.

Camped at Green Mtn. BLM campground. Not a soul there but me.

Next day drove into Christmas Valley for gas, then out into the back of beyond from Wagontire.
    Decrepit ranch was pretty cool.

    Another old farm/ranch.

Drove up the bottom of a canyon and found some old stonehouse ruins.

Desolate out here, I love it.

Drove along the bottom of this rim for about three miles. Biggest fallen boulders I've ever seen!

The boulder field ended at the mouth of a large canyon.

From here, I worked my way up to Hart Mtn. refuge where I camped at the hot springs again.
That night my camp was assaulted by a pack of skunks bumbling there way through. No casualties.
Next morning, I drove up the old Barnhardy Road behind the campground. Takes you up high on Warner/Hart Mtn.
You can see the campground below.

Couldn't go any higher due to gate.

Site of old Camp Warner where the US Army camped during the Snake Wars. Situated in a "lost forest" of Ponderosa Pine. There are a couple of graves of soldiers who died there at the old camp.

That looks awesome. Love that area of Oregon. Only been to Hart once, but I've been to Alvord quite a few times. I always seem to want to go back as soon as we're headed home!

Great pics, and I really like those enormous rocks.
