Isn't this already declared in the owner's manual? 2018 manual pages attached as an example.

Plot twist...I read your manual excerpt and it does not disclose where to get this data... @daks does

    Yes!

Oh it gets even neater... at each "event" you can click on it and then see 5 seconds before and 5 seconds after the event and choose which ones you want to graph and then "play" the 10 second data capture...

    IMG-1148_014fd50c7e529d3a0f27ee1130baa15ef977d2a5.jpg

I wondered why it was taking so long to download that data from the truck (about 5 mins), there is a shit tonne of data stored in there to transfer as serial info....

Lol no way to deny what you were doing now a days....

@Norilsk 's data file must be in "memory overwrite" mode by now..

    Nice work!

I tried to do the data record pick once and it never got anywhere.

I ask corporate about it because of what is said at the beginning of our OMs, but they were all confused with the Connected Services for the 2020s.

    Good stuff!

To give you an idea on the "connected services"

    https://global.toyota/en/newsroom/corporate/23157821.html

Read between the lines for the e-Care Health Check Report Section,

all the data in the computer is accessible live by corporate...

The data is now also stored with the route gps data on the newer trucks....

on a 19 and older at least we can deny being in a mud pit when we had a warranty issue... Lol

Been TS enabled with a tactrix 2 for a few years now

Hmmm..video is storage heavy...data and its metadata not so heavy. I'm guessing no Bueno on the vid capture other than almost 30 min latency capture time...or are you thinking tap the stream to a third party storage? The dash camera peeps would wanna squash that quick

I have software to slice and dice this data 12 ways to Sunday. How big was the data file when exported?

The CSV file was just under 500kb and the techstream data file just over a Meg for the saved file.

So not as large as you may think... (or I originally thought it would be).

I could see the camera information being kept as a snapshot or a 5-10s clip during an "event. Then uploaded.

Toyota talks about AI's for their voice analysis and that means the voice data is uploaded real time when activated and sent to a remote server that does the "thinking" , Just like Alexa or Google's echo... and looks what has happened with them... lol

Every vehicle will have a unique address on the network so in theory you could select an individual vehicle and view it's live data...

Just like the On-star systems... Or Chrysler Uconnect systems, etc etc etc....

And yes in theory you can control locks, brakes, throttle position, windows etc from remote, even perform firmware upgrades from remote...

    Here is a good read...

Very nice find! I'm going to need you to find a way to permanently activate all services now.

Where do I acquire this "bootleg techstream"? I assume is similar to VCDS (Vagcom) for volkswagens?

So the question is can I unplug so the Toyota monkeys can't see what I do with my truck? I guess at the end of the day I don't really care anyways but I always like getting away with something....

Trail clearing is so much easier with a winch!

No more killing myself with a hand saw or trudging around in the bush getting stuck with every little stick while trying to use said saw.
