    batteries plus has a 60 month full replacement warranty on the x2 battery. Haven’t had to use it so I don’t know if it’s no questions asked or not though

    So would you need a voltage booster if you ran the X2 in a 2nd gen seeing as how it’s the same battery size as stock?

    Correct. But not because of the battery size. Because it’s an AGM battery it needs a higher charge rate. Typically an alternator charges a battery at around 13.5 volts. An AGM battery needs 14. something volts. The booster “tricks” your alternator by telling it that the battery is getting less than 13.5 and the alternator ups the charge voltage to get the 14 volts the battery needs. Some use the GM diode trick mentioned in this thread. Some use the hkb booster. 3rd gen guys like me use a charger every so often to top off the battery.
