Just checked my shackles. Mine has notches caused from the leaf spring too. Owell, once the notch gets bigger it’ll eventually clear.

Didn't realize they had a new pack out.

Both me and my friend with the EL096R are disappointed in them. They seemed like a big step down from the old Dakars, which another friend is still running on. While these new sets look beefier, I'm still hesitant to go back to OME. The problem is Deavers are twice as expensive. =/

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
Yup, folks, be warned. "buy once + cry once" and save yourself from disappointment before buying Deavers.

I have these new medium duty dakar leaf packs and besides those plastic clips I have no issues and no squeaking. Definitely worth the price. As for the clips, if they do end up breaking off, do I NEED to replace them? Are they vital to have on there or even could I just take them off if I don't need them? Are they there just to keep the leafs in line because I feel everything else besides those do just fine.

I called ARB and asked them about this. They said it is good to have them on there cause otherwise the leafs may rub on the metal of the clips and cause squeaking. They had me take a photo of the broken clips and my receipt for the leafs and said they would send me new ones.

    @HeadStrong Off-Road
So I just got a set of Dakar Mediums and just about every plastic U clip "pad" was damaged or broken in shipping.
Should I just rip them all off and leave it as is or get replacements?

ARB has been known to send replacements if you ask nicely.

Then it won’t matter. Did you install these yet? I received mine this afternoon, installed the front coil/struts this afternoon and looking to get these in tomorrow morning. Wondering what your measurements are.

Haven’t installed them yet. I installed my front and rear shocks but didn’t have time to install the leaf springs. I asked because I’m hoping to do it next week. That and some extended brake lines.

Yup you are good to go, it’s just where in the spec range they were.

Got mine installed today, not the most fun project but it’s finished.

I didn’t extend the brake lines.

Any chance you can post pics so I know what I’m looking for? Ordered the same pack. Hoping to get it sorted ahead of my install. Thanks.

Course everything is frozen over this morning, but here is a pic of mine.... is this what you are talking about? I received mine last Tuesday and installed them on Wednesday.

Maybe this is unpopular opinion. I didn’t even look at them until I saw your post, this morning. Didn’t care if they were broken, looking at the picture now it appears the one I took a pic of is cracked. If you look at it, or think about it in a practical sense, how could they not break? It’s a piece of plastic clipped onto 68lbs of steel springs that are being bare shipped all around the world. Nothing about them seems functional to me, I’d just assumed they are placed on there for storage / shipping reasons, or to prevent the paint from getting completely destroyed?

In short, I wouldn’t be concerned about them at all.

I haven't got around to installing them yet.
I was trying to get replacement clips but arbusa doesn't even stock them yet. Probably just gonna install them as is and if I get any squeaking down the line hopefully the clips will be available by then.
    Meh

Just grease em where they're broken. No squeak.

    That's my plan anyways.

    Hello folks. @HeadStrong Off-Road

I bought the OME Dakar Medium Pack ARBEL095R about 2 years ago and since then I added a camper shell and drawers to the bed.

Now my leaf springs had sagged to a flat point (totally lost the arch) and the frame its seating on the bump stops. Plus, its being squeaking a lot lately.

Should I add a leaf like the Icon 1.5 Progressive 51100, will it fit? Any other options?

    Any advice is appreciated.
