In the first post it says major cutting and drilling required for CBI. Neverthless, they're cheap insurance and much bigger and heavier than they look in the pics.

I saw that, but that was for their bumper, which looked to mount a little differently. May be the same answer, but I'd like to do something, even if I need to just weld something up.

Take some pics underneath and post up, we'll figure it out. There's three bolts for each bracket and I used it on a Warn slim winch with two bolts installed. I could have drilled through the front plate for the last bolt, but didn't bother since the brackets wrap around.

It's hard to explain until you see them in person how they mount.

Next purchase. Just mounted my Body Armor bumpers and apparently this is a direct slip fit.

Hey @Grossomotto, do you mean you have two of the bolts from the bracket installed, or two bolts from the winch mount installed? Also, was there any need for cutting or other metalwork? I know you mentioned not drilling for the last bolt, were you talking about drilling through the Warn? Just want to make sure I've got everything I'm going to need for install lined up before I get into it. Waiting for my Warn mount now.
    Thanks-

There were two bolts from the reinforcements I didn't install because I would have had to drill through the front of the warn, but it was already on my truck. You could do this if you're installing everything initially. Whichever the case, there were enough bolts to keep everything together.

Has anyone installed the brackets on a SDHQ hidden winch mount?

I was wondering similarly for the Bulldog hidden winch.upload_2021-1-1_21-8-3.jpg
@JLee Also Jerry, would it be possible for you to add a shackle mount on these FBRB to add a solid recovery point?

@JLee I'm curious, have you guys ever made a modified version of your reinforcement brackets for people that have cut off their factory crossbar?

No but from the looks of it you could cut that with a band saw.

I got these in today. Such a nice piece of hardware, I feel bad having to chop these up. I'll post more pictures again once they're cut, coated, and installed.

I finally completed this install of my modified BAMF bumper reinforcements to strengthen up my recovery points on my Prerunner tube bumper.

    1.jpg

Since I cut off my factory crossbar to get my bumper as high clearance as I can, I chopped these in half. Additionally, I was thinking since these bolt to the frame, how cool would it be to have a support bar connecting them acting as a new crossbar? I was thinking of welding a 2" piece of DOM tubing right where the bolts would go.

    3.jpg 2.jpg

So I had some threaded bungs made, measured and cut a piece of tube for the new crossbar, then welded everything up

    4.jpg 5.jpg 6.jpg

Here is everything powder coated and installed.

    7.jpg 8.jpg 9.jpg

Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the end result. Extra support for the frame, and removable if I ever needed to make changes.

    wanna be mods
Did a preemptive #randyfab (@EatSleepTacos) lengthening of the horn bolts, I have to modify the frame end caps to work with the FBRB and then drop them off for powder coating (ordered bare in case I needed to mod the bottom "leg" part since the slimline uses that underside bolt/retained nut.

Going to try to mod the end caps this week and get these brackets coated and installed thereafter. Thanks @JLee glad I don't have to hack the coilover resi brackets!

Whoa! that is impressive. Very Clever. Would your guy make a few more bungs and mail them out? I would like to make my crossbar. BTW what are those D-ring locks?

This is awesome, really wanted to do this, but I have two hard cooler lines in front of the bolt on the passenger side.
