Booked the ONLY camp site left in mid November for Anastasia State Park (at least for the dates we could go). It's going to be a quick getaway, Saturday at 1500 through Sunday at 1300. Group of friends is meeting us up there and we all work Friday and go back Monday. We've been there once before.... Any tips or tricks from people in the area that live there? I know they'll have the Night of Lights which will be nice. Plan on camp cooking for dinner, bought a Groupon to try some place for breakfast/lunch ($10 for $20), and we want to hit that one distillery too. Other than that, there's some little church I want to visit.

Anything else? I knew our time is limited but figured I'd ask locals... Many thanks!

“Around” the corner, by the pier, Antonio’s Pizza and Burrito Works are really good places to eat.

Drive on Butler Beach, which is only a couple of miles from the park. I do that quite often. Grill on the tailgate. Enjoy the water and view.

Parking sucks in downtown St. Augustine.

Ya gotta drive down the beach. Take A1A Beach Blvd to the A Street ramp, that's the farthest north ramp, and drive south down the beach. Back in the day you could drive on at Anastasia State Park. but some idiot ran over a couple teenage girls laying in the sun. I think there is still 12 miles you can drive on.

St. Augustine has some killer churches. Have fun!

Walk St George street. (Get Ice cream kilwins)
    Visit the fort
    Visit the lighthouse

Sucks the beach driving passes went up to $50 for in season times.

Since I moved 20 miles south to Palm Coast, I get a friend to by one for me every year. Out of county is $100.

Yeah...the price for non-county residents is ridiculous. Even for St. Johns County residents, it seems pretty high.

Yeah price went up for sure :/
Luckily this year was like a 2 for 1 because of COVId and can be used all of 2021 too.

So my 2020 beach pass is good for all of 2021?

I was cleaning my windshield a couple days ago and was gonna take it off.

Just found it. Thanks in great multitudes for the info!

2020 Annual Beach Driving Passes Extended – The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners has extended all 2020 annual passes through the 2021 beach season. All passes purchased prior to the on-beach driving restrictions and for the remainder of the season are included in the extension. For more information, please call 904.209.0752.

Yeah once they made it good for all of 2021 I went and bought one
Otherwise I wouldn’t get the use out of it worth the $50 vs paying $10 every trip since we literally only go in the summer....that might change as my kids get older

When I lived across the street from the beach on Tropic Way. I went everyday, even if it was cold or raining.

I'd drive down the Dondanville Ramp, and park and just look, listen and take in the smell before driving off to work.

Caught my first wave at the Surf Drive Ramp. It was a private ramp for the people that lived on Surf Drive, but I knew a lot of them and had the combination to the gate.

I gotta drive 7 miles to the nearest beach access now, and they stopped beach driving a few years ago in Flagler County.

Their working on a old ship that got uncovered a week or so ago just north of Matanzas Inlet.

Wasn't much to see a couple days ago when I was there, but it would be cool if it turned out to he something historical.

I drove down from the ramp by South Beach Grill, but it's just a couple hundred feet north of the exit ramp at Matanzas Inlet.

I tried to find a site for the weekend, but nothing was available. Hopefully, I get to get out there soon. Been itching to go camping lately. Even just for a couple of nights.
