No good recommendations then. The kicker tweets are worth the money and you will notice a huge difference. The speakers I see that fit the location are no better than stock. Paper speakers that will degrade quickly over time and not achieve much better clarity.

YOU ARE better off with kicker tweeters sir.

I was just looking online at them, seems not too many people have them yet. Might be a good option for people who dont want to mod anything.
Im looking to upgrade my JBL mids a set of infinity kappa perfect 3 inch mids. Im just not too hot about alot of speaker system visual designs, some have horid looking grills, some are all silver. I like the JBL because its black grill with chrome rings that match my truck.

After the Kicker tweeters, I tried the Kenwoods, which Crutchfield classifies as a "midrange" but found the highs actually extend higher than the Kickers.

The Kenwoods required a lot of taming with the equalizer though, probably due to being bounced off the windshield and, because of their low efficiency, having to fully crank up my little amp.

They dont bounce too much, unless you cut out the "wave guide" from the speakers grill. The JBL speakers I used fit perfectly into that little guide and funnel the sound more to me.

Is it hard to replace kicker tweeters? Any install videos that are worth watching?

Its pretty easy to make a template if you pull any tweeter. I cut out a wood panel and a hole for the tweeter and replaced instead of the kicker setup. Give you some options. Picked up a set of Focal isc165's to replace door and tweeter. were on sale for $120 or so.

I have one of these - bought for a center channel I haven't built yet. Teriffic build quality although I haven't heard it but did model it and have heard great things. I'd take these over some kicker tweeters any day - half the price too.

I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps
I got three inch hybrid audio unity in my dash and tweeter in custom pillars

How have those been working out for you?

I'm still messing around with the Kenwoods. I've got one more tweak I'm going to try and if that doesn't help, I'm throwing in the towel and moving on to something else.

For me, they work great. Once I switched to the CDT adjustable crossovers, shit really opened up. I could probably (and should probably) move up in power (maybe step up to an Arc Audio X2 1100.5, all of the speakers can handle it)

    Thanks.

So they haven't left you wanting for an additional tweeter?

Nope. I find it to be just right. The front stage is good for me, and there isn't weird deflection off the windshield. The ringing in my ears has gotten worse anyway, and the tweeters would suck no matter where I put them. When I listen to Audible, I have the head unit set at Jazz. When I play music, set at Jazz LOL
