Borrego springs is a cool quick trip, leads you to the "mini grand canyon". Gotta have 4wd, the sand was super soft last time. (Had to pull a wrx through that sand for 2 miles:rofl:)

Fonts Point. Super easy trip but worth the drive. Might be busy out there over the holiday.

Was just out there with a group of trucks Saturday through Monday and it was super busy on Saturday, but Sunday and Monday were pretty mellow since everyone probably headed home coming off the weekend.

I'd love to check out Anza. I've never been over there. Perhaps not this weekend though, just finished replacing half the stock IFS and need to retorque and fix a few more small things.

Thx PupDrew! I’ll look into it! Is stock (no oversized tires) ok to hit this trail?

Yeah you don’t need anything crazy for most trails around the borrego springs area

awesome... want to enjoy the outdoors but also know I’m not setup yet. I’m an avid wheeler but also one who’s been around the block to know limitations of a stock vehicle.

I’m thinking maybe Borrego or Cleghorn Ridge!! Cleghorn Ridge may be our best bet.

Well shoot! We can change it to Saturday if interested. I’m here through Sunday.

I know I sound like a knucklehead but I’ve never wheeled in this Tacoma (it’s 2 weeks old) much less ever wheeled in Cali. I’m a previous avid jeeper and full size wheeler in AZ. Been seeing great things on the Tacoma and the community that comes with owning a Tacoma (reminds me of the Jeep life) and want to dive into all aspects of it.

Mom and I lost Pop 2 years ago. He was a heavy car and restoration guy. Made damn near every car show known to man at one point or another. Mom misses that brotherhood feeling. I never got a chance to show Pop the 4 wheel life, I want to introduce her to the close nit 4wheeling/overland family feel no matter what state you’re in.

We did the Cleghorn trail today. Great time. Awesome little 3/10 trail to take my Mom out for some sights she’s never seen. Decided to take my stock Sport on one of the more technical routes... she almost wet herself and I puckered up a little too. We made it trhough just fine.
It was nice to see my stocky was capable and I can’t wait to start building her a little!!

thx all for the suggestions. I can’t wait to get back out and try some of the other ones y’all told me about!

Hey guys new to TW and would love to be able to wheel with some ppl in SD, I have a 4Runner and no one seems to be part of the 4Runner forum at least that’s interested in getting dirty in SD.

I'm just learning the ropes (stock OR) so if you're up to some lower level runs until I can take my training wheels off, I'm game.

Been on two group meets north of here run by @Rakso and having fun/learning. He showed me https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...perstition-trip-jan-29-to-jan-31-2021.460736/ which is about a month out and more in our neck of the woods.
