There are some settings within Techstream that you can configure. Play around in there though.

have techstream loaded on laptop, have v14.20.019. when i try to utilize connect to connect to vehicle, or to "browse around" prior to hooking to the truck, it says i need to update that this version was outdated in august. then when i try to auto update, it asks me for dealer info, passwords etc... trying to update to 04B33, from 04B31. would like to learn the program so, i am not sitting in the truck, draining the batteries on the truck, laptop, while i browse. was thinking i may change chimes, signaling. just dont want to mess anything up. thanks for all that are helping us all learn this. That's normal. Ignore those nags. Do not be on line with TS. Make sure ALL accessories / lights etc. are off before connecting to your truck.
Make sure your battery is good @ 12 + volt. Many put their battery charger on the battery while playing with TS.

It's a good tool. Use wisely.

thanks guys, i assumed you needed to be "online" to read the tsb's, and write them in real time while in the truck. Ski

Check out the first post of this thread, all the TSB's are attached along with the CUW files. The CUW files are the flashes. Tonered does a great job keeping it updated.

Once TS is installed on your 'puter (you can close it ) ..... and just double click on the .cuw ... and then follow the prompts.

So I used the hint guide for my truck in the first post, but those TSB's don't seem to be in the download area for my truck.

It's not an 18, it's a 2017 TRD AT. What current CUW file should I be using? I just tried 0037-18, and that's not the first file I've tried.

The file name in your text is correct, but the screenshot isn't the right file, I believe.

I mean, I could be wrong. I just did this yesterday and didn't have a problem. The file names were correct on both sides from what I remember.

    You need T-0034-18.cuw for a 17 AT

That was it. Came back to tell good news and yes it’s done. It’s been about 2 weeks since trucks been driven so had to hook the jumper cables to it as well.

You should always use external power when flashing anyways. Don't want the juice to run out in the middle of a flash. Glad you got updated!

I have some questions for the DIY experts here:

    1) When you do an ECU Flash with TechStream, do you put a charger on the battery to maintain the voltage (like Toyota says to do in the TSB instructions)?
My Battery Charger has both a regular 12 volt Charge Mode, and a 12 volt Supply Mode - which of these two modes would you use?

    2) Have any of you flashed a 2020 per TSB-0092-20 yet?
The TSB states, "Software version 15.00.028 or later is required"; and we are using TechStream version 14.20.019 (per the first post in this thread).
    Will TSB-0092-20 work with v14.20.019?
If it didn't work, would it then just harmlessly fail; or would it potentially do damage to my ECU?

Thank You to those of you 'in-the-know', for any assistance and guidance that you can provide!
