I commute 50 miles a day. But not much off road action...though it has a couple of times. Muddy as hell both times

Sweet. Not out of the question of course, but if it happens again settle for nothing less than a test of the whole system.

Meantime, chuck it in the fuck it bucket and put some miles on that truck man

I had to add water to my new Limited. Had it 2 months. Decided to check it (no problems) and it was almost bone dry. Smh

I wasn't pointing a finger at the Toyota trucks themselves MIM... Like I said '3rd Party' stuff. Toyota can't control QC over stuff made under another roof. (Although I would think that they might have some QC inspectors at say ... Just an example ... Some place that makes their wheel bearings or something.)
I'm old enough to remember back in the 50's-60's when 'Made In Japan' = Absolute Garbage. And then the Japanese decided they were tired of being known as making just 'junk' and decided they were gonna 'Out Quality' the USA ... And they've been pretty successful at it too, while maintaining a reasonable cost. Without getting into very elite high-end stuff, Japan rose to a rep (Electronics - autos- trucks) of being affordable top-shelf stuff. MIA? Not so much.
Although, I do think things are leveling out a bit. And I think it's because of 3rd party stuff. A lot of what you think you're getting, is not really what you think you're getting.
I recently did a FULL brake job on the wife's Subaru Forester. She had 150k on it and a caliper started to get a bit leaky. So I decided to make everything new. Calipers - Rotors - Pads - Shoes - Drums - Springs - wheel cylinders - Everything. All Made in Taiwan.
    So 'quality'? Very questionable.
And I recently had to replace the ignition coil and the EGR valve on my Dodge van. Both parts .. MIM. I even bought the ignition coil from the Dodge dealer and the 'Mopar box' had MIM stamped on the side.
    So again, 'quality'? Questionable.
So my whole point of this (And who knows where the battery was made) isn't so much as to where the auto/truck was assembled, but more as to what 3rd party parts are the being built with and as to what QC are they being held up to.
