Where did you install your brake controller? I have a 21, trying to find a place that won't kill your shin or be in the way of the air bag below the steering wheel.

I ended up modifying the area where the switches to the left of the steering wheel. Popped out the blank switch. Measured the size of controller and etched it on the plastic. Cut it out. Required modifying the small plastic piece inside to allow the controller to recess up to the manual brake lever. Perfect place!20201129_155241.jpg

That actually looks decent. Not as custom and hidden as RedArc but far better than the way people have hang the teckonsha control under the dash or try to stuff it in the coin Pocket.

Thanks. I really liked the redarc look. Also there is a nice Curt dial. I’m new to towing and wasnt sure how critical the manual levers are. That’s the only reason I didn’t go with the dial options (I lie-price is another reason).

Not sure about the others you mentioned but the RedArc TowPros do the manual trailer breaking too. You just press in on the knob to activate it.
But yeah when you tow you will find the need to use that feature. If it sways some on you a little tap of the trailer brakes lines it up behind the tow vehicle.

Dang. Wish I had known, as I do like the RedArc look. Hope this helps others. The tip for sway also helps as I am brand new to towing. Literally picked up my TT today. Just thought the levers were for testing to find best setting, or an assist in unexpected scenarios.

Yeah no prob it for all those things too. You got to be sure you can stop. Look for youtube videos on calibration of the controller that will help you understand how it works and how to set breaking force.
How big is the TT? I would stick with the control you have since you have it all set up. It's cool to see other options are out there.
I only tow a pop up but towed several of them with my previous jeep too.

It’s an Avenger 16bh or something. About 3000 dry, 20 ft overall. I’ll definitely be sticking with the controller. Knowing what you told me might’ve changed that a few weeks ago lol. But I’m happy with my outcome.

I’m 6’2” and have kids in the back seat, so I was avoiding that knee area install at all costs. Also new to Tacos, so these forums have been tons of help. Glad to get my pic in for that other option.
