Took mine in last week. Service dept. required me to have no more than 1/4 tank of gas when I dropped it off. I got there at 9am like they said and 2 other Tacoma's were in line before me. They gave me a chebby Equinox to drive home. Loved driving it. Seats were nice and comfy and I liked the way it drove. It had 131,000 miles on it.

Got off the phone with the dealer and was told that it shouldn't have even been affected because the fuel pump is on the passenger side in the cab by the service advisor. o_O Anyways they're gonna have me in next week. Wish me luck lol.

Got my fuel pump done, and it’s now reading full tank even though I don’t have a full tank. Looks like I will be taking it back to the dealership. Has this happened to anyone?

I wonder if my local dealership can provide me with the fuel pump so that I can have my personal master mechanic to do the job?

Probably not. Dealers are funny about stuff like that. However, they might sell you one if they have excess in inventory.

Had this recall done last Saturday along with some other warranty work and the newest ECU TSB flash. Booked the appointment the previous Monday. 0 issues.

My truck is finally done, much sooner than anticipated. Runs fine, hopefully there won't be any more issues.

I would say no.....if it is improperly installed Toyota would be legally liable. They are going to have the dealer perform it. No charge for labor anyway.

I understand, but some "mechanics" at the dealership don't know what there are doing and can make things worse. I've already read some people having problems with the installation etc. Trying to avoid all of that nonsense and have my mechanic that I trust for many years do the job.

Taking mine in on Friday. Service Dept said it would take 2 hours and to have just a 1/4 tank of gas. I'm hoping that an intermittent nudge I feel at highway speeds goes away.

The nudge is just your wife elbowing you to speed up, when you drive like an old man. Lol

I also have a '19 Pro and after them calling me to schedule the service, after I dropped it off they said the fix wasn't available for mine yet.

Do you happen to know which TSB that is?

Got a call from my service department trying to schedule an appointment for this recall, they mentioned dropping the tank and that it would take about 3 hours. Didn't know they had a resolution for the 2020's yet as I hadn't gotten anything in the mail. However the call dropped so I never got an appointment.

Called back and spoke to someone different and after looking up my VIN they said I was in the second wave of the recall and did not have a resolution yet.

Hahahaha, it would be more like a punch to the ribs to slow down. All the years I’ve known her, never has she driven over 35mph.

Mine rolled into the garage (not open to the public to see) and came out 1 hour and 10 minutes later. My dealer also requested the 1/4 or less. Seeing a 2 hour quote is a relief - better than the 4 hour ones

I’m taking my 2019 dbcb in Monday.

my tank is still about 3/4 full (filled it up a week ago - just not driving much during the pandemic). Doesn’t seem like there is an easy to siphon the gas out. So I think I’ll call the service guys Monday morning and see if I can bring it in heavy or reschedule the service out a week.

Dropped my truck off yesterday morning (8:40am appointment) and the service advisor advised they would need it for most of the day to complete the recall. He said only "certified" techs are permitted to conduct this work. They didn't offer a rental, only their shuttle, so wifey drove me home. Got voicemail at 4:00pm stating they broke something while putting in the new fuel pump and they would have to order replacement parts and needed the keep the truck overnight. He claimed some piece of plastic was old and brittle (20k miles on the truck). I didn't ask for clarification as to what it was, said the parts would be in first thing in the morning. They picked me up from my house (wifey at work) and put me in a rental ('20 Camry). Got a call around 10am this morning and service advisor said my parts didn't show up in the morning delivery, but they should be on the afternoon parts delivery truck.

I think my truck is one of the earlier ones to have this recall done at this dealership. They don't seem to have the process ironed out based on the time they took to get as far as they did compared to others in this thread. I'm also surprised by the lack of potentially needed spare parts to have on hand for such a large recall. We'll see if they're able to get it done today.
