Looks to be a decent setup and price. What I would really recommend is that you take her to a reputable bow shop. She would be able to shoot some bows and see what’s comfortable and what’s not. There are so many options nowadays that I wouldn’t just buy one and hoped I liked it.

I just got a range finder Friday after a horrible miscalculation a couple weeks back. I ended up getting the Bushnell 850, I wanted the Vortex, but don't really have a need to range anything out to 1800yds and the Bushnell was a black Friday deal at Cabelas.
And I grabbed a new black hole block since I've blown the most of the foam out of my last one.

Thanks for the responses. I have a friend selling a marlin 336 35 cal and I was hoping to use it for Michigan hunting. But if they aren’t straight wall I’m not able to. But it would have been fun. Now I can’t justify buying it to my wife lol.

Here’s a couple pictures of a .35 Remington cartridge. They’re necked down toward the end.

Yesterday morning: saw 2 does and one small buck. All were about 45 yards.
Yesterday evening: saw one small buck and a decent 8pt that was obviously cruising for chicks. Right at dark I heard some chasing and a couple of grunts behind me but it was too dark to see.
This morning: saw 5 does, all at about 60 yards.
This evening: saw 4 does and a spike (different spot from this morning), all about 40 yards or so.

    The joys of public land....
I hunted really close to a road this morning and had pulled off the side of the road close to where I was hunting. As I was climbing a tree I noticed a ladder stand maybe 7 yards away. I'm halfway up so I figured wth, I'm not moving. Right at daylight I hear a truck door slam next to my truck and a few minutes later here he comes. I waved him off, not sure where he went because I never heard his truck leave.
    Why it pisses me off.
    1. I know it's public, I get that...but if a truck is pulled off the side of the road I generally assume the dude is in that area...I don't go in there. There's way too much public where I hunt to knowingly walk in on someone.
    2. It's illegal. The Fed land I hunt has rules. One of the rules is (like it or not) no treestands are to be left overnight. So basically, if you walk in with it, you walk out with it.

Please someone...tell me if I'm wrong.

You are right my friend. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with public land hunting. Having said that, there is a fair amount of Bull Shit that you have to put up with even if you own or lease private land. I know I’ve said this before but, you public land guys are dedicated and hardcore.

    It's almost like a game...
A couple of years ago I was getting pissed at the number of people I was seeing while hunting so I climbed down really early one morning (like 8am) and just drove around. I'm lucky enough to have about a 30 mile area that's full of public, alot of it is fantastic. Mostly old CRP, junk like that. Anyhow, I drove around solely to check parking areas. I noticed a pretty large area (actually a few areas) that had very little pressure...so I've hunted there quite a bit. But this morning I kinda slacked and hunted one of the harder hit areas. On a Saturday. On a holiday weekend. That's my fault for knowing it's a pressured area and going in anyhow. But my buddy killed this one in there a few years ago and we've seen much bigger, it's hard to just walk away.
