I have these on my truck since the summer (265/75/16).

Yesterday was their first test in the snow. Lots of it. The plows didn’t do a good job. The roads were hard pack/icy with spots of deep snow as well.

These are probably the best AT tire in snow I’ve ever owned. Far better than the original KOs and KO2s (which I have on my 98, and I hate them).

I had the Goodyear Adventure Terrains on my 98 prior and those were really good in the snow too.

But these UltraTerrains gripped the road incredibly well. Had great stopping performance in the hard pack/icy. And didn’t lose any backend control when I tried sliding it out in 4WD.

Definitely sold on these tires. On dry road they’re great too. Haven’t really tested them off road but I don’t do gnarly stuff anymore so I’m sure they will be more than adequate for me.

Well I got them put on. They put on 3 E-load tires and 1 SL. I asked for SL so now I'm waiting for 3 more SL to show up and get those put on but, they still look good. The E load you can tell is a smidge beefier with an extra 2/32nd of depth. But at 11lbs heavier each I'll stick with SL. So far so good, nice looking tire. Don't notice much of a difference between them and my Michelins. Looking forward to winter.

My 1000 mile review after installing these:
    - wet pavement traction is very good, though not as good as the Cooper AT3 4s they replaced.
    - comfortable ride, slight road noise but not bad
    - excellent traction on the beach in sand
    - haven’t had a chance to try them in snow yet
    - MPG has not changed (~17)

Also they look awesome, super beefy for an all terrain, and especially for an SL tire.

Had a set of 265/75R16Es put on Saturday morning. They balanced well, are very smooth, and were pretty dang quiet all the way up to ~80 mph on the freeway this morning. Anything on the radio at all and you don't even notice them. I'm coming from a set of 265/75R16E Yokohama MT-G003s with ~32,000 miles but these are still definitely aggressive/different enough to look "cool" on the truck. We are heading up to Jackson, WY Thanksgiving week, so, fingers crossed, these live up to their rain/snow reputation. I have almost no mileage on them but am really happy, so far.

I have e rated 285/75/r16 tires on my truck currently and the ride is pretty bad. Would you consider the ride with the 265/75/r16 E rated UT’s Bad??

Ordered these from Matt (big shout out to Discount Tire Direct) awhile back and finally got these put on today. So far, I am amazed by how quiet these tires are 265-75-16 SL on interstate at 75mph. No difference at all between these and the stock Goodyear’s. Great look and will get try them out in the snow this coming week

Is your truck stock? Any problems with rub on the mud flaps?

Yep, stock TRD OR. No issues of the tires rubbing on the mud flaps, and I've articulated pretty hard on some trails.

How are the sidewalls on the SL tires holding up to off road use on rocks/desert?

I actually think the ride is slightly better than my e-rated Yokohamas, which I did not feel had a particularly stiff sidewall to begin with. I don't find them harsh, at all. That being said, I have not done a full chalk test, so everything is still sitting at 36 psi, which seems to be pretty close to what I would need, at least for the fronts.

Going back to my last post. Tires did great on my recent ski trip. In 2wd, with an empty bed on an already light rear end, I needed to be a little judicious with the throttle, but they were very controlled under braking and turning. They grabbed well in 4-5" of fresh powder were perfectly acceptable on the packed, icier patches. No idea how these would compare to the Duratrac, but, for my 3-4 snow trips a year, they are great.
