then Id need just 1 new fender for that

on a serious note - I was thinking about a snorkel - since the Hilux snorkels fit and are pretty cheap compared to all the other after markets but im on the fence if I want to pull the trigger

plus I think it might be good to have and not need then to be a not have and need

I finally got my headbolts in for the Taco. That was quite the mixup :D

AND the basement is almost ready for primer, it would be ready if I didn't have to poke more holes to run wires....

Found this little gem on Kijiji. Needs a little TLC, and a coat of paint. But after hunting season, the project begins.

I'm looking to buy a full set of armor for my truck. Need rock sliders yesterday, can prob sell a second set of them for you as well. Only requirement I have is that I can jack the truck up with my hi jack using them as the jack point. Also, did @Canoehead build his sliders to fit a DCSB? DCLB? I have an AC and am hoping he can make some that would work for me?

For skid plates, I'd buy a full set if they have a panel I can remove for oil changes so I don't have to take the entire skid off to do it.

For front bumpers I prefer the ones that do not require cutting but I would consider the ones where you have to cut because i can buy the replacement plastic piece someone released recently... Basically I want to be able to return the truck to full stock if I ever decide to sell it. I'm assuming it would have a winch mount? and recovery points or allow us to keep the demon bracket type recovery points? Also would buy a rear bumper if it doesn't require cutting.

Once I have all of this I will want to have barwork done to protect everything else, kind of like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDrJI36d4aM
at the 19:40 mark you can see the barwork this guy has on his Hilux, I want to do the same type of barwork on my truck between the rear bumper and the sliders and between the sliders and the front bumper...

It's a lot to ask I know but it's all stuff I plan to buy in the next couple of years and I would MUCH rather give my money to someone local if at all possible!!

@Canoehead when are you going to decide on pricing?

@D2. how much you figure you're going to charge for the skid plates?

I should also mention I'm more then happy to assist with any work you guys are doing on this stuff... I'm a single guy who works 7-3 M-F so if you are working outside those hours and need an unskilled assistant I'd be more then willing! Especially if I can maybe learn some welding from ya ;)

Chad, I am building my sliders with @D2. I guess mine are a v1.2 prototype. Mine are for DCSB, there is not a lot of difference in building them once the frame plates are sorted out. @D2. Is the genius, I just put dents in things :)

Yeah I was thinking if you can make sliders that mount properly you could prob make custom lengths for the AC if we paid ya to do the work I'd assume? Well, you and @D2. or whoever the genius is behind this idea? I'd be more then interested in assisting with starting a business to make this sort of thing, I've even been considering buying a welder to self learn. :) It bugs me so much that all the good stuff is made in the states and most of the Canadian companies that seem to make really good designs either never respond to e-mails or have reputations for being VERY slow on delivery. :(

This is, by far, my favorite front bumper design I have been able to find for a Tacoma anywhere on the internet and they are Canadian:

    https://arconeindustries.com/products/phantom-one-series-front-bumper-3rd-gen-tacoma

I have e-mailed them directly a few times. I have messaged them through the form on their website a few times... they simply DO NOT reply. :(

I had cash and was ready to buy as my entire front end was destroyed in my stupid accident but they just wouldn't reply!

I ended up repairing back to stock...

Access Cab and Double Cab short box is the same frame. so the bolt on plates and measurements are identical between the two. I've got a slight mod to make to my sliders so they don't rub the pinch weld, but after that I think I'll have all the measurements that would work for 99% AC / DBSB on a 2nd gen.

oh wait, you are a 3rd gen..... different plates I beleive, but not much different. Might have to get you down for a mock up.

As for the skid plate, I can put in a door. It would take some noodling, but I don't see it as being too bad. I'm working off some DIY skid plates posted up here on TW.

the bumper's a different story. the one I'm fabbing up is a black widow fab bumper. I bought the CAD files from them and had the metal cut locally. not sure if they have a 3rd gen option. since the bumper is not my own, the only thing I could do is offer my services for welding. some sort of time and materials type deal.

as for the high lift comment.
they are definitely strong enough to hold up the truck. I don't have pictures, but I did it several times before I took them off for some tweaks.

I’d just do what the stock skid has the hole to fit the long socket for the drain hole

then anybody could get that fomoto value thing for easy oil change

this is what I had plans to buy

3rd Gen V6 you need a hole underneath to reach the oil filter as well as the drain plug. I am grateful for the oil filter location on the 4.0L!

    as for the skids....
I was thinking of $250, all bent / welded up, no paint.
but I need to get my a$$ in gear and finish modifying the design. I've been procrastinating pretty badly these days. Time to snap out of it and get'r done!
