2019 trd off road shifting issues

hey I recently purchased a 2019 Tacoma and im sitting at around 4000km and the transmission is fine around town (speeds of 50 to 70kmh) but when I get on the highway and try to accelerate it shifts pretty rough and wont down shift after I let off the accelerator causing the compression to slow me down and use up way more fuel than what she already drinks up, sorry if there is already info on this but im new to the forums and I couldn't seem to find anything. I also ease on the pedal very gently so I can already rule having a lead foot out of the rough downshifting. thanks!

 

Is ECT Power light on? If that mode is on the truck won’t coast as much, it will do some compression braking in higher gears.

 

no it isn't in ECT mode I was thinking of turning it on to see if it does anything for my issues

That TSB might solve the issue.

 

Dont the injectors turn off when you coast ?
