I’ll see ho they work in a few weeks. I don’t go into deep stuff and I know when to stop digging. Here’s some more pictures for the few that asked2BF19853-7C37-4562-B816-F18038B794AD.jpg8C935AC7-5B5F-430C-802F-4FD8C669B190.jpg8C935AC7-5B5F-430C-802F-4FD8C669B190.jpg

So when I started this thread I said thanks but no thanks to people who just wanted to share their story, but what I wanted was real numbers. (I tried to be nice about it.) This thread has evolved into more, which is great. Now I want to share my story.

I was out with a friend in a Jeep who was ahead of me and got buried to the hubs in mud in an area with no trees, no rocks, and no traction. We jacked, dug, and placed traction boards under his rear tires and I pulled on him hard with my snatch strap. Nothing. I took a longer, harder run. Still nothing. I decided two things; We were a long way from anywhere and no local options other than pulling him out, and if my recovery hook broke it was flying at him, not me. I took one hell of a run and pulled so hard I was sure something would break. Out he came. So those things can take quite a load. That’s what I know.

So I have reviewed this thread Twice and I don’t know what kind of recovery point you have and used to recover the Jeep. Thanks for the info.

The only true recovery point I as able to find for my '19 OR was the ARB. It's rated to 18K lbs. Weighs 17 lbs. Here are a couple pics. 20200826_193549.jpg 20200827_215235.jpg 20200827_215304.jpg

I was meaning spinning my tires and digging myself into a rut/hole. With 2wd, once you start spinning the tires just stop and get pulled out. (My truck is 2wd)

There easy to install and look good. I haven't been able to go off-roading since i put them on so that's all I got for now.

Seems like it should be fine for most recoveries. It just sits pretty low on the front and would limit your clearance. Depends on what you plan on doing with it.

The one liability I see with the ARB unit is that it is only a single side. A single frame member. And anyone can see there is scant material to attach to in the Factory frame, regardless of the additional attach points.

That Curt hitch is looking pretty good. Only four bolts, But spread wide, and in line with the frame rails. ;-)

Just so people are aware. The ARB recovery point is awesome, strong, and load rated... however, it may need the same real estate as some remote reservoirs. Check mounting locations before you order something that doesn't fit into your overall plans.
