I might consider this depending on the Covid situation and whether I can grab a cabin or rent a camper. I ain't the man I used to be and sleeping on the ground is avoided if possible.

A couple of things to consider about the PDC is their at 250 person capacity with this covid crap and if March 18 is picked, that ia spring break week will be full if its not already booked up.

Second the Lake Meredith site. Great free sites, that multiple trucks can pull into, or go down to the big open lot near the bottom and a whole team of rigs could fit.

On the other hand, PDC has hot showers if it is wintertime! Which means, less crowds, fewer rattlesnakes and tolerable temps.

Are we settled on March 18th? It's a Thursday. Is that when the steak challenge happens or is that just when the meet-up begins?

I'm ready to get to work on this thing! I really like the idea of raising some money for charity - even if just a few bucks - to add a little flair around this thing. I'll donate some BBQ rub and a little merch to whatever fundraising pot we come up with. Who do we need to reach out to here on TW to get that sort of thing approved?

My wife has a vinyl machine and heat press, so she could make some shirts for the event. I'm thinking we could have folks chip in a few bucks to charity to get a name, phrase, whatever put on the shirts or something. Not sponsorship in the business/corporate sense (unless we can find a big dog to put in on it!), but just a funny walking billboard for forum members. I reckon we could get away with some small table-top signs and such.

Or am I making too big a deal out of this thing? I think it'd be awesome to get as many remote folks involved as possible. Get a HUGE online audience for it.

the 18th is just the 72nd day in the year or something like that. I don't think you need approvals, Rob runs the toys for tots thing all the time and was planning something else and I don't think needed any approvals.

Definitely interested in making this happen from Rhode Island.
